3 WEEK'S OTJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so hard to believe that already a week has gone by since Max's party and
that it has been 3 weeks since he last had insulin.
Max is wonderful. It is amazing how we forget what they were like before all of this happened.
We have been testing him a couple of times a day and his range has been in the 60's.
He did give me a panic on Tuesday night when he threw a 125 but in true Max show off
form, he brought himself down to a 53 a few hours later.
He is also used to the new routine in the morning and has quickly forgotten the mad run to
his test chair. He waits in the kitchen now for his breffis and hangs around a lot more.
We are trying to reduce the amount of food now as Mr. Max is now 19 pounds, so he gained
a bit of weight.
I said several times in our condo that there was one last sign I was so desperate to return, my
Max sleeping with me. He used to do that all the time before he got sick and for the past 6 months, no matter how many times I carried im to bed, he would jump right off.
Well, this week, 3 times he stayed snuggled in the crook of my arm, his head resting on it and gave me his old love nibbles. Totally awesome.
Then there was another day that he was waiting for me by the stairs to come home from work and was he ever meowing when I got in.
Thank you for giving me back my Max.
So last Saturday after the party, I stopped at vet #1 to tell her the good news. She was busy so I told them that Max was off insulin and and told them to have the vet call me. She never did. Then a few days later, sister Chloe started throwing up blood again. The vet finally called me back about her and when I asked if she heard that Max was off insulin, she said yes and that was it. Could not care less. Now how disgusting is that? Very sad.
Well we miss everyone here and try and visit as much as we can.
Hugs from Max. He truly is a much happier kitty now thanks to the love
and support he got in LL.
