Yesterday... the day of contraband.... I was gone... papa bean was inattentive... and the temptation of papa's unattended breffis was too much for Mannie to resist.... results?: face plant in the bacon, the hash, the eggs, the everything.  Who knows how much he ate. Good news is despite the 454 he cleared it soon enough, and ended up surfing the later part of the PM cycle in the blues, posting a 167 this morning. Part of me thinks that he was headed up anyways, and the extra carbs made sure he got there. I hope he has a good cycle this morning. I am off to go over in E Washington for a canyon day hike (YAY! The mtn pass is clear this AM!! and I can at last get there), providing of course Mannie gives me a decent +2. DH will feed him his +3, and probably an extra +4 to make sure he surfs safely while I am gone. I did feed a 7% this morning as an extra precaution.

Mannie is his usually furry purry self this morning. I was greeted with meows and legs rubs as I trudged up the stairs after the alarm went off. He was ready, and why was I so slow... Breffis couldn't be served fast enough, but alas no fuds dance this morning. Clean plate club remains intact. Must have been good - he spent several minutes face washing, then off to the nanner pile where they all got the once over. We had a beautiful sunny day here yesterday - 65!! Mannie was able to spend most of the afternoon out in the yard, and sunning on the deck. Kitty nirvana. What a great day for him. :-D :-D

Have a great day everyone - and Happy Easter! I hope to get to condos once I get back from my hike - providing I get out the door. Please Mannie?

My friends!! What is up today? ~ Mannie

Re: 4/24 Mannie AMPS 167, +1 190

Good Morning: Happy Easter. Hope Mannie cooperates and you get your hike in. I'm off to Ocala to help a friend pack horses and equipment for the Rolex today. We both need good weather. Have a wonderful day.

Re: 4/24 Mannie AMPS 167, +1 190

Oh Mannie. What a silly kitty you are. Eggs and bacon...well, OK. But no hashbrowns for you young man.

Happy hiking Michelle!

Re: 4/24 Mannie AMPS 167, +1 190

Mannie eats better than we do!! Very nice that he could enjoy your DH's "lumberjack" breakfast. What, no pancakes??
Now, Mannie, be good to your mamabean and give her some nice middling numbers today so that she can go on her first real hike of the spring.
Michelle, have a great day! Be careful crossing the mountain passes.

Ella & Rusty

Re: 4/24 Mannie AMPS 167, +1 190, +2 190, +10 127, +11 158

Hi everyone!!

I made it out on a great canyon hike in the eastern part of our state, and came home to have Mannie give me a 127. :-D What a guy!! Not too sure how low he went while I was away, but I think that the 7% as his meal this morning was a good decision. Mannie - thanks for letting me go hiking today. lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

Hi Barbara - Happy Easter! The boy did good - I did get to go, would have liked to stayed longer, but aiyee.... one still worries. weather was OK - very hazy types clouds, so the light could still get through. made for a good time. I hope Ocala went well, that you too had the weather you needed.

Hi Tena - oh I know.... do you believe that? He just LOVES bacon... and hasn't had any in a very long time. The opportunity was too great.... nom nom nom nom! and thx: hike was good.

Hi Ella - yeah - that he did - I never eat like that anymore, but DH does sometimes. It was more than Mannie could stand so we waited and waited and when the back was turned: he helped himself....  -- and yes on the numbers. I got him up to a 190, felt the fuds he would be given would do the trick - seemed like they did. I was so happy to see that 127 when I got home. and the passes were good: dry going over, but very wet with a nasty rain storm coming back. YAY!!! My first real hike this spring!

Hi Ann - He must have had a good surf - nice number to come home too. SWEET! I go on these hikes, for the most part, alone. DH is not into it at all, so - solo for me. Sometimes my DD and DSIL will come - they love hiking too.

Hi Christie - yes.... bacon.... Mannie heaven! no wonder he posted a 450 yesterday... Things are so much better today.... SWEET!

Hi Marje - yep - do you believe it? He was so fast: instant bacon magnet, and the other stuff too, whatever he could inhale in the time he had....   and yes - great hike, and safety always rules when I go...

Hi Lisa - thanks!! I hope you had a nice Easter too. he seems to like these blues lately.

Re: 4/24 Mannie +10 127, +11 158, PMPS 178

Re: 4/24 Mannie +10 127, +11 158, PMPS 178

Hi Michelle and Mannie, and Happy Easter. Great you got your hike in today, and Mannie cooperated with good numbers.

Re: 4/24 Mannie +10 127, +11 158, PMPS 178, +2 185

Hoping for a nice surf tonight for Mannie the Nanner King. Glad you got in the hike in eastern WA. Passes, I remember sitting there in the winter when they did avalanche control. UGH. I don't know how many times I passed the Chain Off/Chain On places before I figured out what it mean.   Ocala was fine, no rain till the end. Van all packed, horses ready to roll at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. I'm beat, have a wonderful night.

Re: 4/24 Mannie +10 127, +11 158, PMPS 178, +2 185

Let's hope Mannie decides to stay nice and low for you Michelle. Glad you could enjoy a hike today. Sending Happy Easter wishes your way.

Re: 4/24 Mannie +10 127, +11 158, PMPS 178, +2 185, +3.5 158

Surf that blue ocean, Mannie!!! Glad you had a wonderful hike!!!

ok... let's see.... 185 @ +2, 158 @ +3.5, 149 @ +5. what a difference a day makes, and what nice blue surf!

This has been one of the busiest days on record here. Awesome hike today.  When I got home, all set to visit condos my DD and DSIL and DGS show up for a visit. NICE!!, so all condos were put on hold. It was nice to spend time with them. When They went home I sat down again to visit condos, and voila!!, my sons stop in for a visit... and having not seen them in a few well... all condos pout on hold again. I feel so bad that I didn't get a chance to visit anyone today. what a bummer!, and I am sorry... It was all I could do to keep Mannie's current, and LLips? not clue there what Mannie was supposed to be doing.... double bummer. THANKS ALL for visiting Mannie today.

H Kristin - thanks so much for the visit! I hope all is well with you and Abby. :-D

Hey Roni - thanks!! I miss you too - HUGS!! and YAY: back to the blues for the boy. we are so grateful for that.

Hi pat - many thanks! I hope so - after his contraband pig-out yesterday I was fearful of what today would bring. The past two weeks were so nice - I just didn't want to loose what has taken so long to achieve. well, guess it is what it is and we just keep on trying. Today was a good day for him.

Hi Ann and Maggie - Happy Easter!!! Mannie always seems to know when I need to be gone for a full cycle. It's uncanny. I talk to him the night before - and as silly as it seems it's like he understands. sometimes it doesn't happen, but more often than not I can go and do what I really want to do. I am so grateful!

HI Barbara - oh so true on the passes comment!!!! Been there!!!! They are doing major construction there now - down to one lane just east of the pass (UGH!!). Very cool actually : they are making elevated freeway sections to allow for areas underneath the freeway for wildlife crossings, so they can navigate that I90 corridor safely.   too funny on the chain on/chain off... yeah - I know! I am glad the Ocala went well - that is good news. And GO horses: travel well!

Hi bev - thanks for the visit!! I hope your guys is doing well - I have tried several times to get to his condo... and yes on the hike!!! I was so stoked... first desert canyon hike of the season - a nice 6 mile one - great stuff!!, and so very different than mountain hiking.

Hi Marje - awesome day out on the trail - loved every minute of it, wanted to stay longer, worried about Mannie, so... did the basic trail then came home. Funny!: I spent more time driving than I did on the trail: 5.5 hours on the road, 3 hours on the trail. Wish I'd stayed another two hours and tackled one of the ridges. oh well... maybe next time. I was very excited to see his 129 when I got home... I wonder how low he went at nadir???

NI NI everyone - I hope you all had a great Easter, whether you celebrated or not. Missed you guys today - looking forward to visiting you all tomorrow!  :-D
