4/24: Foster Cat Kitty, Dosing Advice

I'm thinking about adding another drop or two to her dose, which would bring her up to .75u. I think I need to accommodate her quirky diet of wet food topped with Frikies Signature Blend dry food. For now, that's the only way she'll eat. She seems to have a real fondness for ground corn and red and yellow dye. Yesterday, I put some of my cats' Before Grain dry food on top of her Fancy Feast and she yelled at me for ruining a perfectly good can of food.

That is just too funny!! Any chance of eliminating the kibble one piece (or a piece of a piece) at a time?

I agree that I think you could bump up the dose however, I think you need PM spot checks. Is there any way you can start testing in the evenings? Even a before bed check would help.

She gets her shots at 10:30 am and 10:30 pm. I'm going to try to test her tonight before I go to bed though. That will be about +2.

Her appy's still not great, but once she's eating happily and consistently, I'm planning to start gradually reducing the amount of dry food "topping." Only problem is, she strikes me as the kind of cat who can count and will point to her food and say "you gave me nine pieces of dry food, and I'm supposed to get 10. And no, I'm not eating it this way."

Have you tried crumbling some freeze dried chicken treats instead of dry? Most cats can't get enough of that stuff.

I was just thinking about that tonight. She doesn't strike me as the healthy treats type, but it's worth a try.

I gave her .75u tonight.
