Good morning! Im not sure why she is higher today, and I suppose it may be a number of things. She went to vet yesterday and was stressed of course, but that shouldve passed, and she went low to 46 at +2.5, so it could be leftover bounce. She got kibble when she dropped also, as I didnt have any hc food and she wasnt coming up easily, so it could be that. I am holding off trying to give the Metronidazole until I get some pill pockets. She got some in cheese yesterday and tasted it and gagged and spit it out, so she will not even touch it that way. I gave her one of the Azodyl in her food and also the antacid liquid this am. Im off tomorrow, so I will run out and get some pill pockets and try the metro again. No poop yet, so maybe when she poops her numbers will drop again. I reduced to 2.5 lat night also, as she dropped to the 40s early on for 2 days straight. I will update tonight. Have a great day everyone! Laura, if you have trouble with the pill pockets I hope you will get some gelcaps. It takes the awful taste of pills like metronidazole and pepcid away. If you put it in things she likes to eat she may like Tiffany develop aversions and then she will never touch that food again. You can order size 3 or 4 gel caps from thrivingpets.com, capsuline.com, who might even send you a free sample like they did for me if you call, or amazon. I never could have pilled Tiffany without them.

She dropped today, and I assume she was either bouncing from the low yesterday, or more likely the carbs from the kibble I gave to keep her numbers up. She hasnt pooped yet, not since day before yesterday(4/22). She has been pooping every other day before now. I gave the liquid antacid..which she hates..and sprinkled the Azodyl in her food again tonight. Im supposed to give 3 a day, 2 in the am 15 min apart(for some unknown reason) and then 1 at night. I cant wait 15 min in the am, so shes getting 1 at am 1 at pm and 1 before bed with her late snack. Im gonna order some gelcaps(thanks Elise) and start the metro when I get them. There is no way she will eat that 1/4 pill wrapped in anything!:mad: Thanks for the visits today Marilyn and Elise!:)
 
When you get the gel caps always chase them with food or water. I give Max a little spoon of baby food because I know he loves it and it helps me because he doesn't try to get away because he knows it's coming.


Great cycle today. Other than yesterday it's becoming Chi Chi normal :):D
 
You might coat them with a little butter to make them slippery - says she who has never used them ;)A bit of butter or coconut oil may also help her produce.

I would also be booking an appointment with a dental specialist if you have one around. Scrapping off a bit of the tartar that he can see isn't going to help and fixing any dental problems can make a huge difference - Vyktor went OTJ after a dental...
 
They aren't big. I either dip in a little of the baby food he gets after or don't put anything on it. You can also give a treat before and after. One of the ladies on the FPS list describes how to pill I keep wanting to ask her if I can post it here. She says it's stress free. She slides it in from the side of the mouth where there is space instead of opening the mouth like I do. I used to use a pill wand with Tiffany but havent with Max. You never have to deal with foaming from bad tasting pills that get wet from being spit out or foaming from bad tasting liquids.
