Pardon me if Trixie's condo is a bit jumbled...my brain is tired and I'm a rattled bean right now. And, I apologize for not getting to condos...but I know my LL family understands and can relate to the stress and anxiety to having a furbaby who is not feeling well  . I am thinking of everyone...as always.
I think Trixie might be feeling somewhat better - she's definitely not worse than yesterday, but she is definitely not herself either. She's still not eating or feeling well enough for me to feel comfortable shooting green. To be honest, that green surprised me, considering a BCS yesterday morning, no shot last night, and snacking on baby food throughout the evening! If she was higher than that, I would have at least gone for a BCS this morning.
Last night, that is primarily what she ate - baby food that I spread out over the course of the evening. She did eat it enthusiastically, but didn't want too much in one shot - not that I wanted to overdo it in one shot anyway, but she would definitely let me know when she was done. I'd give her a rest for a while, then offer a little more. She eventually did come downstairs and was being somewhat social, rather than keeping to herself upstairs.
And, she is still enthusiastically taking her BP meds...phew and anti-jinx.
This morning, I did give her a Pepcid first thing. When I initially gave her breakfast, which really was too soon after the Pepcid (ie, it didn't have time to kick in yet), she just took a few licks and walked away. I gave the Pepcid some time to kick in and then I busted out her old, old favorite: Fancy Feast Classic Chicken. Definitely not ideal as far as phos goes, but I did use the binder, and I did need to get her to eat something other than baby food. She was very excited to see/smell that stuff again, and she did heartily eat a small quantity. And just a few minutes ago, she did eat another small quantity...together, an OK amount of food, but not a great amount of food...but enough for the bean to start feeling a LITTLE relieved. I'll try at least two more servings before I leave for work.
So far, she has only thrown up the one time yesterday afternoon, so I suppose that is a good sign, but she definitely seems like her tummy is unsettled. Last night she was a little burpy despite having a Pepcid earlier in the day, but I haven't noticed that this morning, so maybe it's starting to settle down.
I called the vet's office this morning and requested my vetty give me a call as early as possible; I want her opinion as to whether I need to bring Trix in today before I actually schedule an appointment. I'm getting her to eat OK, but I also know how quickly something like this can escalate into something really bad, given her FD and CKD. She doesn't feel great, that is for sure, but I know she could feel worse...and I want to stay ahead of things before that has a chance to happen. So if vetty says to bring her in, I will bring her in. We do have leftover cerenai and cypro from Noah (from last fall), so maybe she'll suggest we try that and monitor for another day before bringing her in.
If I can keep her eating at the current rate, and she doesn't barf, I should feel comfortable giving at least a little juice tonight....I hope and pray that is how things play out, and that maybe we are over the hump of whatever is causing this.
Have a great day, LL!
