Good morning!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) UGHHHHHHH...Mondays... Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I read all the great advice in yesterdays condo, thank you so much Carolyn and Julie and Marge!!! :YMHUG:

I agree, I think it would definitely be better to feed him through +1 to +4 and let him ride the rest out until I get home from work!

I think a timed feeder is the way to go! I did buy one once but ended up returning it, it was pretty flimsy and it scared my little Ruby! Does anyone have a suggestion on a good one to invest in?

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

There are two types of feeders that people use. One has two compartments and the other has 5 compartments. I use the 2-compartment feeder. I did not have good luck with the 5-compartment one but others have been pleased with it.

Catmate also has feeders on Amazon. Their feeder has space for an ice pack.

I can't remember whose condo it was now but there was some hilarious goings on with the kitty and the autofeeder and some very ingenious suggestions about how to pin it down

lol Serryn, I'm going to have to Crazy Glue it to my floor!!!!!Sasha is relentless!!! and Crazy Glue is my solution to everything!

Hi guys .. well, at least it is a light shade of pink right? We have the five compartment feeder for mocha .. thank goodness she's never tried to pry it open when it wasn't feeding time .. well, if she did she didn't succeed anyways! Have a great day guys!

Did Sasha flip it over trying to open it??!?!
My foster can move it a few feet across the room, but thats AFTER she eats and she is trying to 'bury' any remaining crumbs for later.

The 5 compartment one's are nice. If you go that route, I would try buying directly from a store so you can return it easily if it does not work out. I used one of these for a different foster. She seemed to do pretty well eating out of it if there was kibble in the compartment (she could polydactyl paw it out). She had a hard time getting her head it there to eat the wet. I have seen some people find small bowls to put in the compartments to make it easier (or avoid allergic reactions to the plastic). Might take some work to find the right ones. The 5 compartment one's are nice in the sense that you can set it for the exact time you want vs the 2 compartment feeders that go "approximately" every 2hrs. I say approximately because many times I have seen mine open 30-60 minutes past the time I set it to open.

You could also try Julie's suggestion of frozen pucks. Do you think Sasha would try to eat frozen cat food????

Good luck on the search!

LOL Carolyn, yes! He is a little lunatic! I am going to try the 5 compartment one for sure. He's a poly cat too, so I can just imagine what he's going to do....he uses those "thumbs" of his to pry everything open!

Before I had my neighbor come in to check on him, Sasha did eat frozen pucks during the day. Somedays I'd come home and it would hardly be touched, other times completely gone. But I get home from work right before his PMPS. I dont want him grazing after +10, and a couple of times I'd come home to find him eating at +11. I think the feeder will give me more control over the situation.

It's true, his numbers really do go a lot lower at night when we are supposed to be sleeping... I think his feeding times are a huge factor here!

So Catmate is a good brand? Or Petmate? LOL, their are so many but I am definitely going to buy it a store just in case I have to return it!

Good luck with finding a good auto feeder. I had no idea Sasha was polydactyl!!! Gracie is not and yet the Lil Stinka has gotten more lids off of stuff.

My latest foster is a poly, too. She is young and just now beginning to learn what her thumbs can do!

I think I have the petsafe`http://www.petsmart.com/product/ind...-C881-DE11-B712-001422107090&mr:referralID=NA
(its in the closet right now). I wish I could remember if the person who gave it to me said her cat could open it or not?!?! Apparently he was very good! It does make a bit of a noise when it changes to the next compartment.

Good luck! I think if you find the right one, it will really ease your mind.
