At least this morning is better than yesterday's start. Yesterday was another one of those one curve over two cycle days.

I got up to test in the wee hours when DH got up for rowing. For some reason, I've very seldom gotten a good number when I do that. Maybe I should just sleep through. :lol: I decided to try an experiment. I gave Neko a piece of freeze dried chicken heart at PM +9, in addition to her test treat of FD chicken breast. Not sure if there are any carbs in that heart or not, but she came down a little for AMPS. Neko gets a daytime +9.5 snack and it sometimes brings down her numbers.

I love watching the two kitties jockeying for position for test time. I usually test in the ensuite - great overhead light there. While I am setting up, Theo is usually the first to arrive which means Neko has to get by him to get to me. More often than not that causes a whack fest to occur. Sometimes Theo will hop on bed and lean a paw down, causing yet more whacks. There seems to be this invisible line beyond which Theo cannot cross when we are testing. :lol:

@Helen - If you are ever in Vancouver, I'll definitely give you a tour.
@Kat - Neko does have a late nadir, unless she doesn't. It ranges from +3.5 to +13 (a new data point last week). If she starts higher, her nadir is later. If she starts lower, her nadir is earlier, unless she does a mini bounce up at the beginning of the cycle, in which case it's later. It's common for acrocats to have a later nadir, but not all do.

Nothing interesting on that stinky pinky floor, Neko. I hope you decide to visit some lower floors today. I laughed out loud at the "invisible line" comment. :lol: :lol: Have you ever tested Theo? We need to test Tillie just to make sure her higher BG at the vet was just due to stress.

I hope Neko slides down today. It sounds like she keeps you on your toes with her nadir changing so much.

I so love reading about kitties and their antics. and whack-a-thons. I so miss those! How fun with how Theo and Neko interact. One has to love those invisible lines.

Interesting on the nadirs shifts.

Did you guys have good weather today? Ours was great - lots of sun and blues skies. I hope you were as lucky.

Hope Neko does more of her sliding into blues/greens but not so much you don't get to sleep.....

only whacking in my house gets directed at me.... :shock: :lol:

Another classic pink to blue slide. The evening shot was 20 minutes late. I was taking minutes at a board meeting downtown and they just wouldn't stop talking. Don't they know I've got a cat to take care of! :lol:

@Liz - Another slide, seems to be the pattern we are settling into these days. Just as the test routine follows a pattern. I haven't tested Theo, but he had b/w a week after Neko was dx for FD. He had crystals. :roll: And perfectly normal BG, even at the vet. The amusing thing is at the shelter (there 6 years) he didn't like treats. Now he goes crazy for them.

@Carla - Another day, another slide. Neko isn't very predictable, my pointe shoes get a good workout. :lol:

@Michelle - Yeah, I get my Michelle fix. :YMHUG: Neko is pretty calm about testing, unless Theo crosses those lines. :lol: Neko's nadir shifting is part of her unpredictability that I've mostly stopped trying to predict. And yes on the beautiful weather today. :-D I saw one temperature sign that said 70! (or our equivalent of 22C).

@Rhiannon - Another slide, but who knows where this will go. I got whacked today when I was exploring Neko's tummy for knots. :evil:

Hi Wendy,

Very interesting how many higher morning Neko has had.
Was looking at her chart to see this is a common theme! Do you know why that might be the case??

Also noticed more green in the evenings the past couple of months. Hope you are able to rest tonight!

Neko did a slight rise and now back down in the blues. This looks like a late onset night.

@Marje - Still blue! :-D If Theo was being tested, I'm sure Neko would swat him off. :lol:

@Rex - Cats often have higher AMPS than PMPS (being nocturnal) and go lower at night. That's why we encourage some night time checks. There have been times when Neko was lower during the morning/days, but not lately. I have no idea why - nothing is changed in feeding or schedule. If I knew why I'd change it.
