hi Lisa - i am so sorry to read about your friend - such sadness. Hugs to all.

nice start this AM for Do Lou, looks like it will be a great cycle.

I hope you guys have a geeat day.

+5 214 and stupid BEAN mistake I just gave DL Voodoo elavil WTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I know I am distracted but I walked in and realized it after it was down his throat I have never down anything so stupid concerning drugs with my cats here..... its something I have used on occasion for car travel with him so i know its not the end of the world but I will see how it affects him today I have not used it on him since him being DXd stupid!!!!!!! cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam I am so mad at myself I am uspet over my friend and have a terrible migraine but no excuse to give wrong meds what if it could have hurt him

Well heard from my vet and he said it will not hurt him at all so this is a giant relief for me sigh....... still cannot believe i did it though......

Just keep an eye on DL. (You do know not to use Elavil with a cat that has any cardiac conduction problems? It's been an issue with humans and most MDs has moved away from prescribing it as much as they used to.)

Looks like a small bounciness today -- or maybe DL is winding up for a busy night after all this flat yellow.

(I was thinking the same way you were -- it's been a while since I stopped by.)

yes I know about the heart thing thats why I called the vet since its been years since I used it for him.... before his many health issues and first thing I thought was OMG heart and his BP but my dr said calm down he is a big cat and the dose we have Voodoo on is a small one and so as of now I cannot even tell I gave it too him no changes or drowsiness at all but this kind of mistake is just not tolerated in my world in 16 yrs of being a vet tech never did I do this and of all cats to it has to be him..... just thankful he is ok I know it could be worse Bean just needs to WAKE up apparently and walk to the right cat still cannot believe I did this :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH: ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

So sorry about your friend Lisa, and so very sad when it's so sudden, too. Well, it looks like DL Voodoo will just have a very relaxing day; it's good your Vet reassured you. Glad to hear Do Lou has a nice WCR. Take care of yourself today. Hugs.

Thanks Ann its such a shock and well Voodoo is on Elavil everyday for spraying you would never know he is on it is such a small dose it dose not sedate him and he stil will pee on my clothes in our bath if I am not careful sometimes but for the most part he is a great little stud guy the elavil helps to keep him calmer for a stud boy and with his fear of storms.

That's great the Elavil helps keep DL Voodoo calm during storms. I think I used it (or another one) a couple times when I had to take my Siamese kitty (now at Rainbow Bridge) to the Vet for an exam. I eventually found another Vet he was more comfortable with - turns out he just didn't like men Vets, or men in general!

Its just used for Voodoo not DL just to correct that anyway hence my freaking out over giving it to the wrong cat this morning still cannot believe I did that DUH........

((((Lisa)))): I'm so sorry for the day you are having; for your friend, your migraine, and for DL getting the elavil. I know the migraine an the elavil issues can be dealt with in time but losing your friend is devastating. We send our sympathy.

Thank you Marjorie its just devastating I am in such a state of shock to know she is going so suddenly and well like this knowing her family will be having to take her off life support soon I had a email from her DH about 2 hours ago sent to all her close friends telling us it would be soon nice he is thinking of friends at this time the the cat fancy is like a family in a way the he has been a judge for over 20 years and he and his wife have been active in CFA that long and been such prominent names in CFA with abys that well its almost like losing a family member such a sad sad day monday would have been her B-day

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. What a tragedy.

I am glad that your vet reassured you about the elavil and that DL should have no issues with it. Sending hugs and prayers.

So sorry for your friend, Lisa. Thoughts and prayers going out to her family as they deal with it all. Hugs to you... I'm with you on the migraine fog today. Got some relief from a massage this afternoon, thankfully. I'm sure DL will be okay. Don't beat yourself up too much. ((hug))

thanks to all for the support I still have this darn migraine I have had one almost every day for the last 2 weeks so its been very draining my dr just changed my hormones on thursday and wow that made it 100x worse so I am calling her tuesday when she gets in I have already cut bk the dose on the cream anyway since I felt bad enough and this is making me feel worse I am sure it might help eventually but I am wondering how long it will be..... it would help if meds help but nothing I take helps and today has just been such a waste I needed to get so much done and was unable to do anything Do Lou is OK tonight never knew I gave him that pill no signs of it ever showed up but he is such a huge cat and the dose is for a cat half his size so I guess thats why but I am still mad at myself for being such a idiot....
