Rupert was active and hungry this morning. Clear eyes (they were a bit weepy yesterday). He looked good last night, coat was glossy and he was happy. He's on the couch now, looks a tad sleepy but not too bothered. Hoping he doesn't say in these high numbers for too much longer since I can start to see that slightly haggard expression reappearing this morning. Had Wellness for breakfast and at +3 he's had tablespoon of Friskies (am experimenting with different timings of delivery of food to see if the dives can be prevented). He's coming down VERY slowly today so am assuming/hoping this is still the bounce and not him saying that he needs a smidge more juice. Drank a fair bit last night, can't report on peeing since he goes out in the mornings before I get up but he doesn't seem to be peeing anywhere near as much during the day as he used to. Vet wants us to bring him back in soon for more blood work to check his BUN etc. Am stalling a little since I don't want to stress hi too much but think I"ll take him in this next week for an over all check up again. I think he's on the right path. Might discuss Levemir with her if he continues this silly bouncing, on the other hand.. he seems to be coming down in dosage fairly steadily so maybe that's his way of doing things.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, it's actually warmish here and the sun is out so I'm going out to ride Harvey again, and then we'll take the boys thru the park. ttyl.

pretty flat cycle today.. which is good if it means he's not diving, but not good if he stays up high. I shall threaten him with a dosecrease the evening if he doesn't start smartening up!!

Hi Pip. I'm sorry Rupert keeps bouncing.
I can say that on lev, Checkers isn't bouncing....he just doesn't come down. :roll:

What's up with these guys and that darn pink floor? The other guys are gonna start making fun of them.

A flat day for Rupert!

I wish I had started Gracie on lev or at least switched her long ago. I kno w Barb said Checkers doesn't come down but Jill told me when we switched that it could take weeks or months to see progress and it did but then it was substantial. But, as with lantus, the dose has to be right. I'm not sure Checkers is at his fitting dose yet.

Let me know if you decide to switch and if I can help. You might want to look at Grwcies lantus and lev SS. Click on the SS link in my signature and it defaults to lev but you'll also see the lantus tab.

Hi Pip, I didn't say that clearly. I wasn't implying that the lev doesn't work for Checkers. He's had nice green and blue days on lev. :smile:

Hang in there! You are doing great. The one thing I have learned is patience and that I didn't have any. :lol: I'm loaded with it now. (ya right!). Hope you had a great day and enjoyed your weather!

his PMPS was 309.. JUST stuck in the pink floor. interesting, I was expecting it to be higher.. of course I've learnt that you can never expect ANYTHING from Rupert, he'll go the other way always! So. maybe the bounce is clearing and we'll see some action tonight. The threatened dosecrease might have done the trick again. Hoping that the f1.5 proves to be enough for him for now. He seems happy enough and that's the main thing. He spent most of the day lazing in the sun on the deck, keeping an eye on the bird feeder! We had a great ride thru the park and I even got a decent ride on Harvey where I think he may have actually remembered to bring his brain! Beautiful day here. Work tomorrow... :-| oh well! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

Thanx for the advice/invo/encouragement! Hopefully the bounces ease up and we don't have to switch. I"m wearing my patience pants ..... well, actually I'm in my jim jams! shhh!

Come on Pip, stop teasing your bean. you had a great day outside so now it is time to get back to work.
 
+2 and a nice little yellow.. in a more sedate fashion. Hoping he'll head down at this rate the rest of the evening and start tomorrow somewhere decent! I'm going to take advantage of the fact that he isn't diving too hard tonight (perhaps he's hung over from Vyktor's party??) and gonna get to bed early. Have a good evening everyone!!!!!
 
He should be hungover, Vyktor said that he drank like a fair dinkum Aussie and I think he took a bottle of that special gum leaf liquor for the trip home too :shock:
