yesterday

it's been 2 hours almost since punkin's t/f/s and he's been sitting on the floor purring the entire time. he's just one happy little guy.

nothing exciting to report today - it's beautiful here. yesterday was beautiful also and i opened up all the doors and windows & shut off the heat for the first time this year. punkin & anya both parked at the sliding door to watch the birds outside and smell all the smells. i took him outside to love up the catnip, but for whatever reason he wanted to come back in the house. there were a lot of lawn mower sounds in the neighborhood, so maybe that was bothering him.

It's great to see how well Punkin has been doing. I hope the acupuncture takes care of any discomfort he may have. That tram experience must have been very scary, for both of you. Hugs.

Nice green Punkin! They do love it when the windows are open. My two won't go outside but they like to watch everything going on and smell the smells. Glad it is nice there! We've been switching between heat and AC for a month. Have a great day Julie!!

Very nice cycle today, punkin. Good numbers but no drama. :-D :-D And the purring, you know your bean loves that. Our kitties get excited about open windows too, and they can go outside.

Very nice numbers Punkin, but I'm sorry you're in pain. Julie, I hope the acupuncture continues to work! Sorry for my ignorance, but wasn't the SRT treatment supposed to stop the growing and the pain associated with it?

And yes, it was gorgeous in the Willamette Valley today!

Sounds like spring is in full bloom over in Oregon. Do you have catnip plants growing outside?

Gorgeous numbers for Punkin today, gotta love those greens

the SRT that punkin had - the way it works is by stopping the tumor cells from replicating themselves. the tumor cells that he had in september at the time of the SRT will still continue to live out their lives, they just can't reproduce. the hormone put out by the tumor is what makes a cat diabetic. i assume there are still some cells in there because he still needs insulin. cats undergoing SRT have gone off of insulin as much as 19 months after the radiation treatment. some of his symptoms have disappeared, fortunately, but the reason i suspect he may still be experiencing pain is because he doesn't really want to be held. he doesn't really even want to be touched, but he'll tolerate some. hard to know with a cat when they're feeling pain. i'm just going to stick with the acupuncture, i guess. everything else we've tried has had side effects that weren't worth it.

Thanks for the explanation Julie (in Jesse's condo). Still sending Punkin white light and anti-pain vines!
