Haha. The shots used to go well, but since I'm at a the drop dose, I feel like I really have to push the syringe to get all the insulin out, and suddenly she can feel it more than she used to. I don't think I am very good at it. :)
 
Are you giving it while her face is in her bowl? As long as I shot only while punkin was eating he was ok with it. Sure didn't like it if he wasn't occupied with food, though!

I'll be very curious to see what happens when you get the timed feeder and have her eating at pm+9 - just a teaspoon or so. Just enough to stimulate her pancreas without really raising her blood sugar. You can order those PetSafe 5 Compartment ones off of Amazon for something like $38. When I bought mine back when, it was $65. I'm so glad the price has come down on them now.
 
I agree the timed feeder is a life saver.
Sheba is fine with injection if she is eating otherwise she tries to move away. She used to be much more cooperative and just lie there for me.
Liz's numbers are great. Lucky you. Her SS is a sea of blue and green:)

I can't decide which timed feeder I should get. The 5 compartment looks like a small deep dish, and I don't know if Elizabeth will like that. I suppose I should make up my mind and just try one. My husband gets up early and is going to feed Elizabeth at +9, but I do want the timed feeder. What types are recommended? Does everyone use the 5 compartment one?

Tonight I gave Liz her injection while she was eating and she didn't notice. I felt a bit guilty, but haha - it worked!

I do feel fortunate that Liz has that sea of blue and green. It's really more green than it appears because I am still using AlphaTrak. :D
 
Some people use a 2 compartment one but I don't know anything about them. There is 1 discussion under "feeders " on the where can I find post. Do you have that link?

I found that discussion. The 2 compartment one looks like it will work as well. I just need to make up my mind and try one! There's another pet store here in town that may have the feeders, and if not I will order from Amazon.
