Miss Eleanor is feeling quite perky this morning. She also flopped beside me and purred for about 45 minutes.

If anyone sees this - Eleanor is down to 85 at +6. Yes I am feeding her.
I fully realize I have been increasing her dose using TR, I have also stated that I agreed to do TR because her numbers were so high and once she started getting lower BG I would go back to SLGS.
So I am reducing if she drops below 90, which she has now. No way am I letting her drop to 40 before I reduce.
Sooooo, I guess I reduce by .50 since I raised her by .50. Correct??
I'm sorry, I'm sick, I can't think and I need help.

TR is reduced with a drop below 50, three times with a long term diabetic or 1 time under 40. I always say right or wrong, you must do what you're comfortable with. This seems to be a break-through for Eleanor so if it were me I'd hold the dose. However, if you're not comfortable I might try to reduce just by .25 units. This is just my opinion, not advise.

You can always go back up Julie. You have to be comfortable especially with your own health issues. Would you like to try just reducing to 5.25?

I can try that, maybe that would work. I just don't want to mess her up. I don't know.

Eleanor will be fine Julie. Do the best you can and take care of yourself too. You're so close to where I live but at the same time too far some days with me taking care of Doodles. I'd give the 5.25 a try if you're up to it.

You can do SLGS and modify the number you get to take a reduction. I did that with Furball. She didn't hold reductions at 90. I chose 50, but since you're not comfortable with lower numbers you could try 70 or 80. If you decide to do this, please make a note in your signature line so those giving dosing advice will know.
