To look at Ralph, you wouldn't think that there was something wrong, except when he's sleeping...he is sleeping in the meatloaf position and his head is on the floor, turned to the side. He still is not eating, and he now has runny poo, probably from the babyfood the the KMR. I was woken up at 4:00 am and found him standing on the pet steps looking out the kitchen window and he was drinking some water out of the bowl this morning. He is vomiting whatever I syringe feed him. This morning I gave him some pepcid. I offered his regular food, temptations, tuna, wild side salmon, and deli turkey, all of which he snubbed.

I was able to syringe feed Ali yesterday. She threw up a little, but not much. She contiues to have runny poo. I could not find her this morning to syringe food, so unfortunately, she will have to wait until I get home at 3. Mom will offer her food throughout the day, tho.

I have a vet apt. for 5:30 tonight.

I also thought I had another sick cat on my hands because when I got up at 4 am, both compartments of Spot's timed feeder were still full. I thought, nahoh, Spot isn't wanting to eat, he must be getting sick also. However, he ate his breffis with gusto and was trying to break into the jar that holds the FD chix livers. His numbers this morning were a little on the high side...they ran higher than usual yesterday also, so maybe he's got a touch of whatever the others have.

Thanks for the input yesterday and the thought and vines. They are much appreciated. I

Hi guys .. sorry to hear you still got some sick kitties on your hands .. Hopefully the vet visit tonight can help with that .. Positive thoughts being sent your way!

Between your civvies and Shadow and Raja, not eating and poo problems are rampant. I wonder if it's like people, there's sometimes a bug that seems to be all over. I hope the vet has some answers and some meds to get the kitties feeling better quickly.

Hi Deb,
I hope it's just a bug, too. Poor kitties! Good luck with the vet visit today. And Spotty, you stay healthy, OK?!!
More healing vines are on the way, and some chicken soup, too. Rusty is cooking up a batch right now.
Hang in there!

(((Deb))) Are you warming the syringed food slightly and diluting it with water?

When you go to the vet, maybe you should take a fecal sample, just to rule out intestinal parasites.

Also ask about the Cerenia and sub Q fluids. I hope they do bloodwork, and you might want to consider X-rays, if that is feasible.

(((Ralph and Ali)))

Got a little time before I start the syringe feeding of the kitties, so here's an update:

Ralph: weight was 13 lbs. and is now 11.8 lbs. Temp normal, blood work good. BG was 348, but that's due to stress, not feeling good, and the pred. Vet couldn't see anything wrong. Gave subq's because of him vomiting and having runny poo and sent him home with metoclopramide and said to continue with the probiotics and ok to syringe feed.

Ali: weight was 5.6 lbs. and is now down to 4.8, so I really need to get her to eat and then to find her better food with more calories. Her temp was normal and blood work was excellent. Vet mentioned that she was concerned about her size and said that if she doesn't get any better that I should get her tested for hyperT. This was a substitute vet and has never seen my kitties and my regular vet, who has been seeing Ali since she was a kitten didn't seem to be concerned about her weight. I think the weight loss is because she hasn't eaten since Wednesday and syringe feeding made her vomit.
Her BG was 133. She got some subq's also and was sent home with metroclopramide.

So, right now it's a wait and see type of thing. I offered Ralph a little piece of wild side salmon and he ate it, but wouldn't eat anymore than that.

Linda, no, I wasn't warming it up, but I was using warm water to thin the food. I will be warming it tonight tho, so hopefully that will help a bit.

Well, off to feeding! Thanks for visiting our condo and for the well wishes. I'll keep you up to date!
