Yesterday's Condo

Yes, I know. Way too late to be doing a condo. Well, it's either now or not at all, so...

Thanks to all who visited us late last night/ this morning.

Long day. Cinco was a good boy, as he usually is, and surfed blue while I was gone. I keep telling him how much I appreciate that. He rewarded me tonight with a dip into the lagoon. The shallow end, to be sure, but a dip nonetheless! :D I'll take it! :)

We were just talking on someone's condo yesterday about alarm mishaps, and lo and behold I had one today! I must have turned off my first alarm and gone back to sleep, and my second alarm never went off. I woke up to realize I had 45 minutes till I had to leave for UCD with Minka!! ARGH. After investigating, I determined that my phone has a list of the days on the alarm screen, and I had somehow managed to unhighlight Wednesday, so it did not go off this morning. I went screaming through the house, got the cats fed and Minka and Sasha medicated. I couldn't catch Harvey and didn't have time to waste trying. No time for Minka's fluids, either. DH tried to be helpful by testing Cinco, but he didn't put all his supplements into the food he gave him, so Cinco got two second breakfasts. He did not complain. Minka only ate a couple of bites of hers, but we had no time to wait for the tummy meds to kick in. We were only about ten minutes late for her appointment, which is not that unusual for me. While she was being treated, I went into Sacramento and hit some pet stores. I found this cute little indy store that carried Dave's restricted diet and bought a couple of cans to try. The owner was very high on Nulo, and I bought one of each. She also gave me a little sample of RadCat to try - she is a big proponent of a raw diet. Not sure how it will go over, but worth a try.

When I went back to get Minka, I met with Dr. S, her original oncologist. She was concerned about Minka's weight, which has been decreasing slowly throughout her treatment. I told her I was trying to get some Iams MaxCal, but it would take a week or more from my regular vet. She sent one of the techs off and he came back with 12 cans for me (cost me $5!). I offered it to Minka tonight and she ate a good sized spoonful :). Sasha liked it, too. The boys don't need it. We'll see if she'll continue to eat it. If not, I'm not going to hesitate to syringe feed. Dr. S really wants her to eat on her own, but I can't let her lose any more weight.

I hope everyone had a good hump day. I'm home all day tomorrow, so our condo should be posted at a a more reasonable time. I'm hoping it will include more green. Such a pretty color!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

So quite the productive day even if it did start off o_O:arghh::oops: :)

Score on the MaxCal hope the girls keep liking it. I have been floating around the UCD website a bit lately, that's where they're doing the faucitis/gingivitis stem cell research - tell them to hurry up!

It's nice Cinco was being such a good boy. I hope the girls continue to eat the MaxCal. You did make sure your alarm is turned on for next Wednesday, didn't you?

What a day! From the get-go. Ouch on the morning panic.

Will be interested to hear the results of the "Taste of Tricia's House" buffets. Nulo has two fans here. Dave's. Not so much. Raw? Gee, for critters that will stare down a mouse with hungry anticipation, no one gave any of the raw I've tried a second sniff!

Vines for a calmer day today. Cinco...help in that department.
