Thanks, Lu, I passed along the atta-boy. :smile: He really traveled well - I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. And, even with the riding and being in a strange location, his numbers weren't bad, which was also a pleasant surprise...

Liked this church Joe has been going to. Tastefully loud music and a Bible-based sermon on marriage. Wanted to take Hershey to see the ocean, but had to choose between that and taking Joe to lunch...of course, taking Joe to lunch won :-D

Hoping the +4 (in ~:40) looks better.

Still don't understand why the PS's aren't coming down. Thought at one time that it might be his reaction to the blue numbers, but he's having them fairly often now, so he should be getting used to them. So...why, then?? Do we need to increase, again? This is the 10th cycle since the last increase, so I've given it 5 days...long enough?? Increase?? (scratches head raw...)

Now I'm thoroughly confused...was hoping that maybe his PMPS was a little stress-inflated since we were still on the road. BUT, if that was the case, he'd have dropped more than he has since it's been 4 hours...

I know the preshot was wacko - but his world was in a flux. Now that he's home again, and once he's settled in, I expect you'll get back to more normal numbers.

But even so, he came down almost 200 points! That's AWESOME!!! Clearly, he didn't even see the sign for IHOP - or Doug was driving REALLY REALLY fast!!!

Give him a day or so... once you've changed his routine, I think they need to re-set. At least that's what I'm thinking with Grayson's big, slurpy, sniffy houseguests!!!

I would stick to the dose you've been giving. I think today was just a fluke!

Yes, today's red PS took me off-guard, but of his last 38 PS's, he's had:

2 RED
30 PINK
6 YELLOW

It's the THIRTY (30) PINK that really have me baffled. He usually comes down nicely, but look at all of those hours he staying in the pinks...arrgghh...I just don't have a clue. Up the dose? since he's been on the new scale for 10 cycles/5 days? Look at different foods? I have, in fact, been looking and looking and looking at Binky's list, but don't see a lot of options for under 6% carbs that don't have lots of other stuff. :YMSIGH: Take another stab at moving the times he eats and see if that makes a difference? I kind of did that once before and it was hit or miss. Sometimes the numbers changed, sometimes not, which made me think it didn't matter... :YMSIGH:

Hey Libby,

Sounds like you had a good trip! Hershey did great. Sorry about your PS number. I think it's the weather or something. Copper seems to throw the red every now and then too. Then today he just went high and flat for nothing, like he didn't even get insulin. Know i didn't give a fur shot. But, he was stuck inside most of the day and didn't get to go out under his favorite tree in the sun. Was too cold and rainy. I think they have moods and depression just like humans. Just keeping us on our toes i guess.

Hope you have a better cycle tomorrow. Glad you are home safe!

Thanks, Jenn. I'm still leaning toward upping his scale starting tomorrow. He's been on this scale for 5 days/10 cycles, seeing blue 6 of those cycles. Wondering if we up another .1u, if maybe he'd see an occasional green. And, maybe having that many blues would make him easier about the green??? I dunno...

Was going to go up by .1u, but Doug will be mostly gone the next few days, so I'll be busier and didn't want to have to worry, know what I mean? So, that'll give him another couple of days to decide if he likes this scale. Will look at increasing Friday. Sure would like to see green again...

Since you were traveling I would wait until the weekend,
then up the dose .1 then so you can hopefully watch, I would say that you do seem to have
some wiggle room to come down :mrgreen:

**Lots of excitement at my house...Y'all remember we're working on a major project (or 3 ;-) ) at my house??

Well, had to stop project so we could go party with Joe over the weekend. Came home and Doug had to go back to work, so could only work a few hours here and there. Had been storing the piano in Joe's room (so wouldn't be exposed to sheetrock dust, etc) but he'll need his room when he comes tomorrow for his orthodontist appt Thurs am. So, moved all of Doug's 'equipment' into the 'new room' and piano into small area 'left over' between kitchen and 'new room.'
Have been having 'issues' with the brat (otherwise known as Oreo) climbing the mountain of stuff in that small area and just hanging out! Haven't figured out how he's doing it and haven't caught him in the act. Do regularly hear him jumping down (with a THUD) and have caught him up there a time or two, but not in the act of getting up there. Anyhoo -

This afternoon, he left headed for Charlotte for some training, so he screwed a piece of board over the doorway to the 'new room' to keep Oreo away from the 'equipment' and out of trouble. I kept hearing Oreo 'thudding' and once caught him on top of the mountain (shooed him down). Well, about 2pm, I heard what sounded like Oreo hitting a wall. Went, and couldn't find him. Well, the little black kitty is a good hider, so I was HOPING he hadn't jumped the board and gotten into the room. About :15 passed and not a sound from Oreo. I was getting worried and had all kinds of ugly pictures going through my head of what my kitty looked like laying on the floor of the 'new room.' I called out and beat on the board, but nothing...I was finally able to pry the board away just enough to see Oreo sitting there looking all innocent. :evil: Okay, Doug and I share a cell phone and it's laying here on the shelf...how to reach him and figure out what to do...An unidentified guy had called Doug earlier and I knew there was a guy riding with Doug...so, hoped it was the same guy. Called the number and Doug answered!

I'm like...I have a problem...Oreo is in the room! WHAT??? HOW DID HE GET IN THE ROOM??? So, Doug talked me through where to find the electric drill and how to reverse it to get Oreo out. All the while Oreo is silent and looking innocent!! ARRGGHH

Okay - another project story...Last week...maybe Wednesday? Doug had left the screen off the new window so he could feed things through the window. He was hammering a board just inside the window when he saw a neighborhood cat come into the yard. Well, Oreo (tail fiercely inflated) had already seen it and JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW to chase it!!! Here's (no claws) Oreo jumping out the window chasing this outdoor cat! So, Doug jumps OUT THE WINDOW in pursuit of Oreo and says he's wondering all the while HOW am I going to tell them that Oreo ran away??? :o :shock: Doug said the next thing he knew here comes that cat around the corner of the storage building running up the neighbor's fence and just adheres like something out of the cartoons! It finally gets over the fence and Oreo (chest poked out - tail normal again) walks back over to Doug like nothing's going on. Glad the cats didn't make contact so we don't have to worry about what the other cat may have and sorry I was in the shower and missed the show!!! :lol: :lol:

Love the stories....so funny. :lol: Would have loved to seen all of it. Cats are so funny. Especially when they get into things they know they aren't suppose to be in.

Oh the struggles of a great PS & the higher +4. It is so discouraging. :-x

Ck'd +10 hoping it would shed some light on what's going on with this cycle, but not sure that it did. Was it an inverse curve? Too much insulin? Too little? Dreading AMPS in 2 hrs
