Yesterday was trials day for the FDMB Olympic Diving Championships. Or so Mannie thought. He was in prime form, exhibing a 224 point drop in 3 hours. Amazing, simply amazing... I have no clue what made me remember this post, from Celi, sometime ago. I loved it then - it was posted after one of Mannie's Signature Dives. I thought maybe today I'd share that with you....

well, here it is folks...the fellow we've all been waiting to see in our dive exhibition today...Mannie Manxman. Mannie hails from the PNW...he doesn't really have what you'd think of as a diver's build, but his technique is undeniable. As we're waiting for this fellow to mount the dive platform, let's address the recent excitement mannie experienced: it's true that officials did confiscate some items from Mannie's hotel room yesterday. Statements say they were concerned about a replay of the Michael Phelps scandal, but tests proved that these items were a harmless substance called Nanners...nothing illegal for this guy!

wait...mark...look at the back of Mannie's Speedos...is that a pom pom we're seeing???...

yes it is, bill...one of his signature adornments. Well, he's heading to the ladder...and as always, this colorful fellow throws a wave and a grin to his fans in the stands...who, oddly, all seem to be wearing fur coats...

What a nice day yesterday for Mannie, once we got past the dive part! We ended up heading to the blue and yellow floor in the evening, but I have no complaints - it was such a great day for Manfred Mannie. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D This I will share, if only because it was so "best buds" and so DGS, and so Mannie. Nicholas's snack yesterday afternoon was come cubed chicken and a small bowl of blueberries. :-D Mannie had just had his test, which DGS watched with such interest. :shock: After the test he patted Mannie on the head, and went to his bowl of blueberries, picked one, and brought it to Mannie. :cool: He laid down on the floor with Mannie, nose to nose, and offered him the blueberry. :razz: Mannie of course turned his nose up at that, which perplexed DGS beyond belief :o , as he just loves them. I whispered in Nichoals's ear: "try the chicken..." well I'll be darned, but that is what he did: got up, got a piece of chicken, back to the nose to nose, offered it. :cool: Mannie of course gobbled it up, and then proceeded to very gently lick DGS's fingers. :-D :-D Giggles abounded... what a great Kodak Moment, and I, once again, was camera-less. :roll: :shock: And as always we had a great test feed shoot this morning: lots of purrs and head rubs from Mannie. Breffis was consumed with gusto - still and always at warp speed, clean plate club status maintained, the auto feeder continues to be used, Elsa still tries to raid his auto feeder, I still intercept.... Normalcy in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone! it is catch up day for me, and some errands. Later in the afternoon I will join DD, DSIL,and Nicholas for a trip to the zoo. It is a very small zoo, that specializes in big cats. The tiger cubs are celebrating a birthday, so off we go. FUN!!

Hey everybody!!! What's up? I think we need a cookie day. I've been kinda craving cookies.... so.... how about it? maybe we can use Rusty's kitchen again, or!! my bean will be gone for a while - we could use mine too. Anyways... what'd'ya think? It is so sunny and nice here, maybe we could take in a small kitty hike after that. I hear that there are fish in the streams... YUM! You guys in? ~~ Mannie

Morning Michelle ~O) It looks like Mannie may have a nice flat curve, too. :-D That is so cute with the narration by Celi on Mannie and the Olympic Diving Championships. Whoa with that comment on his body for a swimmer! :lol: He sure did have an exciting cycle yesterday. No luck with the blueberries, huh Nicholas! I love that third of DGS Beach combing 101! :-D Great pics of the other two also! Have a great time at the zoo with family, how fun you get to see DGS again!

Mannie, that sounds fun to bake cookies at Rusty's house. Ill dig up one of my recipes. See ya at the curb, Mags

Morning Ann! I so hope so on the nice flat curve. I had enough of that dive mode yesterday morning... :lol: :lol: and yes, it was exciting yesterday - sure make for an interesting and busy morning! thanks on the pics - I like the beach combing one too. He is so at home there. The zoo should be fun! Very cool cats there, and even better: more DGS! I am really looking forward to that.

Sounds like a neat Saturday is in store for the zoo goers. Tiger cubs' birthday party should be a big hit.

Loved Celi's great narration of Mannie's diving prowess. And loved the story of the blueberry vs. the chicken! Neat pics, too. How cold is that water??

Hi Ella - Thanks - it should be a fun day. This zoo has raised these two cubs since the day they were born, quite a nice history for a small local zoo. They have a great outdoor habitat for them, lots of space to roam. They do this birthday party for them every year. it's actually quite fun - they have presents etc... and I'll be darned, but they actually open them... well, rip them apart usually, as all is tiger food, game style... me too on Celi's post - loved it back then still do. the blueberry thing was too cute. Water is cool, but not too cold - at last up close to the shoreline. the sun had warmed it a little. I had wondered, but his hands etc never really got cold.

hi Tracy - isn't that the best commentary? I love it! yes, i loved to watch that sharing yesterday. It was just so cute. He so wanted to take care of his buddy. will do on the away time. and hmmmmmm on the kitties. Mannie says "I SWEAR we will be good". well ok then! :razz:

Very nice today. No major diving championship so far. Celi's commentary is just hilarious. I can just see Mannie in his little speedo!

Hi Michelle. What a lovely day for Mannie...well, we could do with a bit lower +11, but hey, sometimes the guys like to wear pink. Coming down nicely, though.
I still love the Mannie, Nicholas stories. :-D

Hi Georgia - nope - and phew! no major diving today. :cool: Yupp: I too love that commentary. and that image. I wonder what CD could do with that.... or even MJ..... and thanks - zoo was great, as was the weather! A beautiful sunny day here in the PNW.

Lovely recovery down today and looks like he's headed for another run...hopefully blue!!

What a wonderful story of Nicholas and Mannie!!! Like in the video! Mannie is amazing with him.

Hey Mannie...did you hear Vyktor is OTJ!! WOW!!! So guess we're headed to Australia for the big party! We're making jugs of Aussie Mozztinis!!!!! I hope Vyktor likes them!

Hi Marje - thanks. I had so hoped for tonight, but it looks like flat yellow. a resting night for him. hmmm..... Yes, exactly like in the vdieo, except this was on the floor. Nicholas had to get down and lay on eh floor to do this one. It was just so darn cute.

Gracie - SWEET isn't it! and AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKs I gots the beverage special on the menu. WOO HOO! They sound really good... :razz: :razz: :cool: Did you hear? Vyktor is sending flying kangaroos with BIG POUCHES for your transport. Cool, huh! Tobey will love it! See you! ~~ Mannie
