Since it's after midnight here, officialy it's Thursday, so that's the date I'll use even though this stuff occurred on Wednesday. And for now this is mostly serving as a placeholder. Long day, I'm toast, Photobucket is wonky, YouTube is constipated, and my internetz in general are uber craptacular this evening.

Wednesday afternoon was Butthead's re-check at Angell in Boston, and the vet called tonight with Donovan's bloodwork results.

Let's see if I can upload a pic directly:Butthead chose to crash in my back seat with Crazy Frog and Eeyore on the way to Boston this afternoon.

video of Butthead in the parking lot after his appt:

I also took video almost the entire way home. Battery was low so I didn't dare turn it off. It's over an hour long so I'll have to edit it into pieces before I post it.

Will elaborate more later...

He is such a sweetheart... checking everything out around him and purring into the camera. What a huggable cutie.
Love the backseat of your car with Crazy Frog and Eeyore. Too funny!

(((Hang in there MJ))))

tainted love, oh . . .

There's a lot to say re: Butthead and Donovan, but not enough time to get into it at the moment for various reasons. Short version is that Butthead's treatments are done; there's nothing more they can do. Donovan's bloodwork wasn't great either, but not gonna panic just yet.

More later.

Healing Prayers for both your babies--Our kitties are getting older, many with problems, we surely understand your feelings here as no one can--Hugs & Lubs to you!

(((((((((((Donovan, MJ and Butthead)))))) You have a special place in my heart. His purr is so comforting. What a courageous strong boy you have there.

Sending hugs.

That is quite a purr Mr. Butthead. It looked, at one point, like he was talking or singing with his little mouth moving. All snuggled with his friends in the back seat. All positive vines on their way to you and the boys.

Ok, here we go. I'll start with Donovan.

The vet called last night with his bloodwork results, and I also picked up a paper copy this morning.
Donny's glucose was 254 (my test that same evening was 104).
The major concerns are his WBC, neutrophil, and monocytes, all of which were high. It could be due to his chronic bad teeth/gums and gunky ears, or it could be indicative of something more serious going on inside :-| Please God let's not go there... So the vet wants him to start on Clavamox before his dental that is now scheduled for next Friday, and then continue with it afterwards. The plan is to do more bloodwork in 6 months and see if anything has changed. His last bloodwork was 2 years ago when he was diagnosed with diabetes.
Side note: now that I have Fortiflora on hand, should I give some to Donny in anticipation of the antibiotics?

I'll post about Butthead separately.

you have a lot on your heart to deal with don't you, mj. sending healing thoughts for your babies. Great that you can get started with antibiotics before the dental - perhaps that's all that's going on with donovan. Wouldn't that be great?

I thought about Butthead today as I took punkin to the vet. he yowled the entire way, but a special extra 911 yowl got thrown in midway and continued for a mile or so. He makes Butthead look so very angelic! I told him that Butthead PURRS while he's traveling, but punkin was unimpressed. :-D

i don't know about the fortiflora, but you might want to bold your Q so it doesn't get lost - and add a Q or note on the subject line of the 1st post.

(((((MJ))))): may the vibration of Butthead's big purrs heal him; Donny.....I hope the dental will resolve the problems with his BG and his bloodwork. Prayers and healing vines for you all, dear MJ.

I have a couple of days before Donovan starts the Clavamox, so I will bump up / add ??? / bold the Q a bit later.

Butthead update later. It's more complicated.
Time for sleepus...

I think you know I'm a bit paranoid about Fortiflora - I know a lot of people here are comfortable with it. When I researched it for Maverick I decided against it and would chose an alternative probiotic. I think its safer in cats that may have immune or other issues. With Maverick his recovery from FHL, asthma, diabetes and arthritis I just felt he wasn't the ideal cat for fortiflora.

Sending hugs for Donovan. Wishing it is just something antibiotics and a dental can quickly take care of. Keeping you in my thoughts.

I can't recall Donovan having tummy issues when he has been on antibiotics in the past, so I am hoping he won't have trouble this time either. Not to be graphic, but Donny has really large turds, so the thought of huge piles of Donny-sized liquipoo is kinda scary . So for the moment I'm just gonna keep a closer eye on his butt region after I start the Clavamox.

 ya gotta laugh when you can, especially when dealing with poop!

punkin's got diarrhea and vomiting from the clavamox and i just posted asking about fortiflora & optigest - i'll watch your post for more info too.
