Can't get more aggressive with the insulin until after this busy weekend. If Taffy doesn't like many canned foods, how could I use carbs to steer him? Can I use a lower card kibble in very small amounts? Well, maybe I can increase tomorrow as I'll be available most of day to test, but then if he really starts to have lower numbers Sat or Sun it would be hard as I'll be gone all day. I could leave snacks in the feeder but I am never sure that he'll eat it.

You can always add a few drops of Karo/honey/syrup to whatever food he'll eat if you need to bring his numbers up ......but I find it hard to believe he won't eat the gravy from a Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers!! Most cats love that stuff!!

Oh, well, he definitely would eat that! (the Gravy Lovers) But I though that was too HC and to be saved for hypos. I def don't want to be adding sugar/honey/corn syrup every day to steer numbers. I don't even like giving that stuff occasionally. I am going to have to see what foods he might be amenable to or what I can best steer him with so that i can get more aggressive with his insulin. I have become a bit complacent and feeding the LC raw he is just bouncy all the time. I am trying supplements too. What I DO NEED to do is to start recording his foods and supplements on the SS so I can easily see what does what to his BGs or if there is any patterns. My laptop is a super pain to always be getting on and my phone is okay but not great for typing info. I want to get a tablet, but not sure when I will be able. Life is rough!

I don't like using a laptop much,either. My tablet is great for traveling or quick things, but for most things I still use the ol' PC. Call me old fashioned, I don't care!

It's okay to add a little honey or syrup to LC to make MC if you need to. If Mr. Persnickity doesn't like any of the MC foods you find, you'll have to improvise somehow! My go-to MC was Max Cat Venison or duck. It's 8 or 9%, which is really high LC, but it worked for me. Harvey LOVED it, which is funny, as he didn't usually like sliced foods in sauce. Cinco, of course ate anything I gave him.

Yes, I think you're going to have to play around with adding something HC or MC that Taffy likes to his raw food to bump up the carbs. I do that with Uncle at every AMPS and PMPS. I don't ever just give him anything under about 5% (guessing) anymore pre-shot. When I want something higher than that for steering, I mix HC in or give a higher ratio of MC to the raw.
I rarely just feed him an entire meal of either of the the two Weruva foods I mentioned. OF COURSE, just 5 minutes ago being an exception. I had a big drop from PMPS so I gave him the 13% straight up. Thankfully he loves it. I could have added some 21% to his raw instead to approximate MC too.
Keeping track of what works will be really helpful. I got that advice early on and it's been major!

Adding notes you can refer back to will really help you see what works and what doesn't. You'll have to experiment and see what works.
