Hi Everyone,

Its kind of a gray day here but warm and nice spring weather. Looks like the sun may come out sometime today and the cardinal couple is here eating along with several titmice, black-cap chickadees, bluejays, red thrush, junkos, white doves, a medium size woodpecker and sparrows. For once the squirrels are leaving them alone to eat in peace. Oh, spoke too soon, the first squirrel showed up.

Racci has had much too many poops yesterday and overnight. Only one was really too loose but there were overall too many. She felt a little dehydrated to me when I gave her shots last night and this morning so I've been trying to get water in her and stopped her miralax temporarily. I don't know what's going on with her but no ketones last night and all her food has had lots of water in it, her eyes are nice and clear, appetites in place, peeing ok, playful and happy. I'll just have to keep an eye on her and keep testing. Getting tired of washing butts & fur though & the thought of the knots later in that long fur is not a happy one.

Other than that, hoping the bounce is finally over and some low numbers show up today. I also am thinking of those kitties in need of good health wishes & vines to climb up out of the illness with. Sending strength to their moms to deal with it but keeping a little for myself. I'm tired!

Have you ever tried phsyllium powder? Tarragon has loose stools from his IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). The one thing that has really helped is to put 2 capsules of phsyllium powder in each can of food. We just buy the generic at walmart, just be sure it is 100% phsyllium. We break open the capsules and mix them in each bowl of food with some water. It has really stopped his diarrhea and it is all natural.

Hi Melissa,

Racci usually has the opposite problem so no, I haven't. I'll look for it the next time I'm over there though. It would be good to have it in the house. I like natural products. I would have to give it by syringe though. I can't put anything in her food or she doesn't eat and there are only 2 types of canned foods she eats right now so can't take the chance of turning her off one of them. You use a whole capsule at a time?

I'm going to see if it goes away itself first since she has the opposite type of ibd with constipation and it's better to let her get over it if she can. Anything that would make another cat normal will make her blocked up. WIll see if she winds up needing anything. Thanks! Luckily she only had one movement that was really wet and none that were liquidy so it's not bad and might be getting better today. She's only gone twice with no mess today. Thanks for letting me know about it!

Racci's numbers came down nicely on the new dose but she's just not feeling well. I don't know if it's just getting used to a new dose or if she has something going on. If she doesn't have a large improvement by Monday, I'll be taking her to the vet. First she was pooping too much and that stopped and instead today she isn't eating. I've had to coax every meal into her except breakfast today.

I had to use a spoon to feed her some dinner at 10 and only got a few mouthfuls in and at 6 she ate on her own after much coaxing but even less. She acts hungry until I bring it to her and then acts disappointed. She may be holding out for dry food. I have a few new foods I could try but I don't know if that's a good idea. Would she automatically dislike them because she doesn't want to eat or be surprised & like something different? She's so unadventurous!

Sorry to hear that Racci is not feeling her greaest. It sounds like Ella and Racci might be pm'ing each other when we are out and about and are in cahoots to try and get some dry food! Silly kitters!

Sending healing vines to the both of you and wishing you a beautiful new day filled with sunshine and new adventures
