marmy has never had this wide of a swing before. Is there something I should be doing for her? She seems fine, a bit playful, eating well, etc. I wasn't home most of the day due to dental appointment in Maryland but my sister gave her several snacks of FF low carb during the hours I was gone. Any advice?

Hi Toni!

Everything today was just fine. 60 is a safe number. When you don't know if that 60 is on the way up or down in the curve, it's a great idea to get another test in 30-60 minutes if possible. The reason for that is just to catch if the cat goes under 50.

But, all is well. Your sister feeding food was the perfect thing to do. Doling out food in small amounts is a good strategy, especially when she's not being tested.

Great job taking care of the little girl!

Hope you did ok at your dentist appointment.

Thanks. From 360 to 60 to 445 seemed so extreme. And we haven't seen a 400+ number in so long. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a bit calmer for the little girl.
Have a good night!

It is an extreme change in BGs, but it's not a big concern. He may have some lower numbers somewhere that is causing the high numbers.

Good night!

Marmy also could be bouncing from the drop. Anything over about 50 pts an hour can cause a bounce. Down 300 points in 5 hours makes in about 60 points an hour, so very bounce worthy. Handing out food in the first part of the cycle while the drop is happening was the way to go.
