Deck time for Daphne today, again. This time I remember my laptop, but left my notes inside. ( can't leave her unattended, she's not an outside kitty, and I don't think I would call her easy to carry around, at 14.8 lbs., and me with a bad back. ) So, all I remember is the AMPS, which was unfortunately high, compared to the last few days. I was hoping she would start to come down at AMPS.

And Daphne, I sure hope you appreciate this, cause mama bean is hurting with allergies out here!

Sending healing vines to all the kitties and beans who may need them.

Nice AMPS Daphne!

I know what you mean about lugging them around. I have the same problem with Racci, usually running between 18-20 lbs, and a bad back. Occasionally I take her in the yard but I can barely carry her, never mind anything else!

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 152

Thanks for visiting our condo! I have used the pen before but switched back to the vial about 6 months ago. Thank you for the heads up though. I appreciate it! Hope your day was great!

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80

Your welcome Melissa, good luck with it.

Melanie, I don't think I could do 20lbs!

I can't believe I was out for 3 hours, and so it was time for her PMPS, so I went to pick her up and it was worse then a spoiled 2 year old. She actually made herself dead weight, I had to almost drag the chair she was on, to get her in. And now, she is looking at me, like, "how could you?"

Beautiful numbers for your girl. love all that green! I don't remember if I have said it before , but Daphne is such a pretty kitty!

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80

LOL...I love how dramatic our kitties can be! Lovely day for Daphne...I think she wins the award for predictability! We've got one more day of "deck weather", then it's back to the 50s for a few....I'm bummed, but summer will be here before we know it!

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48 Dose?

Well, I guess all that Vit. D or fresh air today,… :o 48 @+5. I skipped the +3 tonight, so I have no idea how low she was.

Question, if we were giving a "f" .50, do I just take the "f" off, or should I go down to .25?

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48 Dose?

I think if you went down to 0.25, that would be more than a 0.25 reduction as you are currently giving her more than 0.50. But, maybe it will be advised to try a f0.25 huh? can you measure that? Let's see what others say.
Good luck with the dosecrease whatever it is.

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48 Dose?

Thanks Dyana, it's not going to be so easy to go from a f.50 to a f.25, but then again, it's really not so easy to do the f.50, we don't even have 1/2 u markings, but DH and I have it pretty dialed in. Sometimes I count drops and then stay with that measure.

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48 Dose?

Congrats on the reduction and FWIW, I agree with Dyana that you don't want to go lower than a f.25u or it might be too much.

Good luck with dialing that in!!! Go Daphne go!!!

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48 Dose?

OK, thanks Marje! It's getting so close to the end of the syringe, but I just counted 5 good drops for her f.50, so I guess it will be about 3 1/2 drops now, something like that :?

Thanks Michelle and Ann!

I know Amy, I will try and get that last day on the deck for Daphne tomorrow, but I'm wondering if she will understand why we won't go out in the rain. She doesn't understand much about weather, being an indoor cat.

I don't know how you all do drops! I don't think I could do it with my bad eyes! How can you see what you're doing? Congratulations on the decrease! Wouldn't the kitties be ready to go otj by then? Just wondering.

Would you believe that when I go to the vet, they have to meet me at the car to help me in with her? I call them on my cell phone and tell them I'm there and someone strong and healthy comes to meet me and carry her in for me. Her carrier adds another few pounds and makes it impossible for me!

Racci goes limp on me too when she doesn't want to be woken up! What brats! I can lift her but I hurt afterwards, especially when she's on the floor.

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48, +5.3 63

Melanie, I'm not sure how we do it either, I just try and make sure it looks consistent day to day, and DH makes sure we give the same ( DH does AMPS and I do PMPS). Also, from what I can see from others going OTJ, they really do see a difference between a f.01u and f 0... I don't know what it will be like when we get to that point.

I love your Vet story, I did the same thing when I had my 21lb Maine Coon. I hurt my back so bad with her. And if that wasn't bad enough, she was almost (bedridden, actually basketridden), we pulled her around because her two front paws hurt from tendonitis, with all the weight on them after jumping down from somewhere.

Re: 4/20 Daphne AMPS 151, +8 82, PMPS 80, +5 48, +5.3 63 +7

Well, it looks like Daphne didn't have enough of me today on the deck, cause I may be up for a while now. +7 55 :o .

I wonder, if the sun, Vit. D, fresh air, relaxed feeling, for 3 hours today made her numbers come down. I guess no one did a study on that yet. If stress can raise them, why not the other way?

exercise can lower bg - your thought makes sense to me.

good luck on the reduction from me too. way to go!
