all is well in punkin's world. happily, he didn't bounce from last night's venture into the lower blues. i stayed up til +4, barely awake, and decided the food had slowed him down enough that he wasn't going anywhere dangerous and i headed for bed.

on 1/21 punkin was getting 5.0units of insulin and we were using the Freestyle Lite glucometer. that evening we switched to a Relion Confirm and we've increased his insulin to 7.25u to get him down into about the same range of numbers. if you're lurking, you may not know that punkin has acromegaly, which causes the need for higher amounts of insulin.

he's happy and fine this morning. breakfast scarfed and he's parked on the ottoman watching the birds outside.

Hi guys .. nice to hear punkin is feeling good this morning! What's the saying around here .. a kitty doesn't know how much insulin they are getting, so long as they are feeling good! And it sounds like punkin is .. well done Julie! have a great day guys!

punkin's had a super day - he's got this yucky bounce going on, so i figured some exercise would be good to bring down the numbers a little. took him out for a walk, which is an interesting affair. punkin has to smell everything, rub his face on everything, chew on any grass tips that look fresh, and slink under all the little squishy spots.

the best, however, was the catnip. it's begun to grow again and he headed for the spot. rubbed his face all over the stubs of last year's "stalks" and chewed and rubbed his face on the new leaves. yes, it was a winner. we had to spend at least 5 minutes at that one plant while he loved it up! :lol:

btw, time to plant if you're hoping to grow any. sure is a hit with punkin - anya isn't phased, but punkin loves it enough for both of them.
 
He is such a sweet heart! Loves his outdoor jaunts..Hope he comes down from this bounce--as long as he feels good--Hugs & Love from us!!
 
Vyktor showed no interest in catnip as a little one but with all of Mannie's nanner stories I decided to try again - he goes crazy for it now. I sprinkle a little on the floor for him and he rubs his head in it and then eats it. Turns out it's not just hoomans whose tastes change as they grow up!

Time for you to get changed too punkin - enough with the stinkus!
