? 4/2 Princess - time for OTJ?

Hi Everyone,
After a very good week at 0.1 units, Princess had a 200 reading (Alphatrak2). All her numbers have been in the mid to low 100s. I was hoping that she was coming OTJ very soon as the vet had instructed I do last week. Should I be concerned with this unusually high number? Marie
 
I am not really familiar with the Alphatrak meter, but looking at Princess's SS I might think that 200 this morning might have been a bad strip. Did you happen to test twice? Whenever I get a number that seem WAY off I test again. Other than that the numbers look good so far today. I don't know if you should reduce again or not, but you have been on this dose for 7 days with mostly normal numbers other than PS. Maybe some of the others can instruct on whether it is time to start an OTJ trial or not.
 
If I remember correctly for alphtrack 68 is the magic number for a reduction...I am on my cell phone so can't look at the spreadsheet, how much insulin is she getting right now?

If she is currently 0.10, then I believe at next green preshot number the otj trial would start.....but I am not 100% sure....

Hopefully someone a little more versed in this will be along shortly to correct me :)

I didnt retest the 200. In hindsight, i should have.

She is currently at 0.1.
 
I would then change youe subject to something like starting otj trial or something like that.....as peeps are coming back in for the day, it will gwt more eyes...
 
Have you counted the number of drops in your .1U dose? Today she definitely earned a reduction.

I see you might start an OTJ trial!

When you say .1u, is that with the plunger right at the zero line, and have you found that to be one drop? That's sort of where we were until she had no shot last night or this morning. Just curious....

Sorry - Missed the one drop comment. So we are thinking the same thing....good to know!

well . . . it's been 2 hrs so i think it's her shot time, but i haven't heard back from anyone else. Wendy suggested already that she needs a dose reduction, and I agree with that.

I'm seeing a 146 at pmps on her spreadsheet. That's a little bit high for skipping or starting out an OTJ trial. Usually people start a trial on a green (using a human glucometer.)

What would you like to do? Can you get her dose any smaller than it was?

I think I am going to give her a shot. Cant seem to get it smaller than 0.1.
