Morning ~O) I hope Maggie stays in the low blues for Vetty visit. I awoke to another surprise with Mags sleeping next to me. There was an ulterior motive though with her head butting me to get up and get her some fresh fuds at the +8, which I did! She had a little food on the plate but wanted fresh! Mags has early Vetty visit (routine for b/w and renal values). When I told her about our little trip, this is the body language she expressed. The second pic is really how she feels! :-D We're hoping her teeth are okay and no dental. I'll have time to get a couple more pokes. Wishing everyone a nice day.

Awww Mags, it'll be OK! (I've been procrastinating making a BP check appointment for Mario, because I don't want to see THAT expression on his face!)

Nice numbers, Maggie....don't let the vetty visit change that.

Have a great day, Ann!

+4 118

Back up to blue, good for Vetty visit. I know she wanted some FF T&G! :-D

Thanks Amy, she does look a little like "what's up" in the first pic. I think she knows something is up with the way I'm rushing around.

Hi guys .. boy, we've seen that second pic look in our house! I hope the vetty visit goes well and no dental is needed either! have a great day guys!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118 ATrak (Pic)

Morning Ann - what a nice morning for Maggie, and a nice off to the vetty number. I hope she will be able to hold onto the blue. I love the pics - I think Maggie has a good clue that something is up. It's OK Mags - the visit will be a short one. I hope all goes well with the vet visit. How nice that Maggie came to sleep with you. So enjoyable. :-D

Maggie!! You off to the vetty? Bummer, but don't worry - it will be OK. The KTSS will come and get rid of the vetty smell, and you will feel great. Then you can come with us to see Big Mac. See you soon! ~~ Mannie

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118 ATrak (Pic)

We're back from Vetty, and Maggie may have high blood pressure. She has to return in three weeks. If it's still high, she will need b/p meds. The good news is no dental needed. My glasses are in the car, so hope I didn't make too many typos.

Thanks Devon and Michelle for the visits. Mags did great and walked out of the carrier on her own. A couple times she buried her face in the crook of my arm. I'll get bw results tomorrow. I'm off for a couple errands = Maggie food and ink cartridges.

Mannie, that sounds like a great plan. would love KTSS visit and then BigMac visit, Mags

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118 AT Back from Vetty

Glad to hear the vet visit went (mostly) well!! Fingers and paws crossed that the blood pressure reading was just a blip and that things will be more where they should be at her next visit.

The pics gave me a smile... and reminded me of my sweet Miss Belle:

Hope you two have a wonderful day!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118 AT Back from Vetty

Great news on the dental. Hopefully the BP issue was just a fluke stress induced thing. Hope you got all of your errands done (especially Maggie fuds) and have a great day Ann!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125 Back from Ve

+9 125

I am surprised at her +9! I was sure it might be high from Vet stress. I had to give her something to eat as she was not eating well this morning, probably sensing something was up.

Christie, Miss Belle is a beauty. She looks like Maggie!

Melissa, I hope, too, the b/p was a blip. It was 190! I take Mags in three weeks, and the same Vet Tech will do it. Maggie is about a pound overweight.

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125 Back from Ve

Mags walked out of the carrier on her own at the vet? Wow, no wonder her BG is so good. Hope the BP was a blip and it's ok the next time. Nice pics!
Liz

Gabby tends to bury her head in my elbow at the vet. I'm sure her numbers will settle down.

Hi Ann
Took a peek in ur condo only to find really cute pictures of Maggie
Glad ur vetty visit went well, but sorry about the BP dx, tell Maggie eating good foods and exercise will help!
Hope u are well! We are doing good ourselves, will visit again soon!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125; PMPS 125 AT

PMPS 125

Thanks Sienne; I'm hoping the 190 b/p was "kitty white coat syndrome." I sometimes get it myself when I see the white coats. :-D

Liz, she did surprise me with walking out of the carrier on her own. I guess that says how often she sees the Vetty she's getting comfortable. I forgot the pedicure.

Roni & Luna, what a nice surprise and thanks for visiting us. I hope you stop in real soon again, or better yet, stay with us. We miss you & Luna and your civvies.

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125; PMPS 125 AT

Ann

I'm glad the vet visit went well and I hope the bp was just vetty stress. My vet told me they start to get worried about high bp when it's over 200 but I think it varies by vet. "Usually" high bp would be attributable to renal issues and I know you've been watching her closely. Of course, it's not always due to renal stuff in cats. When you go, do they just let Maggie sit in your lap in the exam room....nice and quiet and no one else there for about 10-15 minutes? Then do they
take several readings and average them? And they need to do the bp first thing. So if they are doing it after the exam or without giving Maggie a minute to sit quietly with you, then it could be stress.

Please keep us posted on her results. Glad she doesn't need a dental. Love the photos...she's such a doll!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125; PMPS 125 AT

Hi Marje, when I was first brought into the exam room, it was just the Vet tech and me and she was taking some info on Maggie for her chart and then weighed her. Yes, the b/p was taken first before any exam or b/w was taken. I really like this Vet tech as she speaks softly to Maggie. She didn't force Maggie out of the carrier, as Maggie just strolled out which surprised me. We've had this Vet Tech before, so maybe Mags was comfortable with her. It was just the Vet Tech and me with Maggie in the room while she was taking her b/p. Maggie was on the exam table, and I was holding and petting her. The Vet Tech did take several readings and then gave the readings to the Vet. The Vet did say they start to monitor closely when the cat has renal disease which Maggie has Stage 2 renal disease. The Vet said he wants a second b/p check in three weeks and with the same Vet Tech. He thought it might be stress with the visit, but just to be sure, we'll do a recheck. Three months ago her b/p was 160's, and this time 190.

Thanks on her photos and for all the helpful info. I should get her results tomorrow, and I'll keep you posted.

She's such a doll :-D :-D :-D :-D

adding my hopes that the BP was just vetty stress...

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125; PMPS 125 AT

Sounds like they did a great job on the bp. I'm glad your vet is being very cautious with it.

Saw your note on our condo....I quit giving Gracie HC and/or gravy a long time ago....it just seemed to really make her bounce hard. We normally just use 8% with her and just on occasion when she gets really low.....like in the 30s, I'll use 10% and/or a drop of karo. She typically has been responding very nicely to the 8%!!

Re: 4/2 Maggie AMPS 152; +3 95; +4 118; +9 125; PMPS 125 AT

Hi Marje, yes the Vet is very thorough with everything. I forgot to mention I was in the room about 10 minutes alone before the Vet Tech and Vet returned. I always get there early, so there's extra time. He thinks her numbers look good, as I E-mail her ss weekly.

That's interesting how you work the 8% and 10% fuds to get Gracie's numbers up but not spiking. She does respond nicely. I guess that came with a lot of experimenting.

Thanks Celi, let's hope so!

Hi Ann & Maggie,
I'm a bit late with condos tonight, but just wanted to say that blood pressure can vary from minute to minute. It's good that they are being careful and taking more than one reading. Next time Maggie may be back down agin. She has great bg numbers after a day at the vet!
Have a good evening, and give your girl a little treat of T&G!!

Ella & Rusty

Vyktor is swooning, his BP went up enormously when he saw those pics of your gorgeous girl - well actually he's insisting that she's his gorgeous girl now!

I'm also late today for my dear Maggie & Ann--I also believe it was stress, Moonie starts freaking out the minute we get into the car, then crescendos at the vet's actual office!!!!
They are being so sweet & careful with her,I just like that...
Know that Maggie will be just fine & all will be well with her tests--Paws & fingers crossed for good test results--You know we love you both-- & Mags & Moonie are so similar, Mags even had good numbers for the vetty!
Mags you did good today--Have a good night! Hugs & Love with us!
