Yesterday's condo

Call me crazy! Yes, I shot a 53 this morning, but I knew I'd be home to monitor and wanted to take advantage of shooting low. I also skinny'd up the dose some. So far, so good! Just a little drop below 50 but she has always seemed to do fine in the forty's (and actually seems to prefer them)

A little of her low carb FF and about a half teaspoon of gravy and she's back up again so all's well. Have to run to the other side of the lake, so hoping she'll stay up in safe numbers before I leave.

Had a pretty good round of thunderstorms move through this morning too, so nobody was going to get to go back to sleep! Tried to call DM to remind her to take her morning pills and kept getting sent to voice mail for over 1 1/2 hours. Through this it was banging and booming outside, so I didn't see how she could be sleeping through it so when I still didn't get her to answer, I called the police and asked them to do a check on her. Soon after, she called me and said she'd been surprised at finding a cop at her door, and that the phone had been right next to her, so I don't know why she didn't hear it. We have a pretty obnoxious ring tone set on it but I guess I'm going to have to see if I can find something even more obnoxious! Also want to see if I can get a phone number for one of her neighbors so if I can't get in touch with her, I can have one of the neighbors walk down and knock on her door and check on her.

Hi Chris! Thanks for your visit yesterday and your comments on the vet practice, I thought I was being paranoid about begging for stuff! Oh my gosh on the cop at the door, I'd have a heart attack! I hope he was cute;) And I'm glad your DM was ok. WOW on the BOS shot this morning. I'm glad that China is being a good little surfer for you. I like thunderstorms...unless I'm trying to sleep, lol. I hope you and China have a nice relaxing day today and she keeps giving you green!

Yay for a safe cycle! :mrgreen: I'm glad it worked out well. I'm so glad DM was okay, too. I can't imagine the worry you must have felt. She must be a really sound sleeper! Do they make phones that make loud, obnoxious sounds as well as vibrate the bed at the same time? :-D Getting a neighbor's contact information sounds like a great idea.

Very nice cycle for China, despite the dip to 48, but she does love those 40's!!

I am home for the evening! YEAH!! Tomorrow is another doctor appointment for DM (eye specialist this time) but we don't have to leave before noon'ish, so hopefully China will cooperate tomorrow too!

Rachel...I LOVE storms! Lightening, thunder...anything but really high winds are fine with me! When we are issued a tornado warning, I'm out on the front porch watching (the animals are in the basement). Of course living in Missouri my whole life, you get used to tornado watches and warnings. During the spring, we're under one or the other about every other day. You really can't freak out every time.

The police and I have an understanding about it though....they go around during tornado warnings with their lights flashing and sirens on (just in case someone doesn't hear the official tornado siren) and for the first several years I lived here, I'd be out on the front porch waving at them! They'd stop and tell me I needed to go to the basement, but I'd just say that there ain't no law that says I have to, so now they just wave and keep going! I'm sure if I actually SAW something, I'd get down there. Nobody else is going to take as good of care of my critters as I am!! Especially China!

Thanks for the visit Shelly! Luckily, when you live in a small town like we do, the police don't really have a lot to do, so asking them to check on someone isn't a really big deal. DM said the phone was on the table right next to the chair she was sitting in and she never heard it, but I'm sure she just slept through it. She's not a heavy sleeper (at least at night she isn't), but I think she sleeps sounder during the day. It'll be easier when I have one of the other ladies that lives there phone number though. The 2 ladies in the apartments nearest her had met her one day while we were measuring, and said they had a system where one checked on the other one in the morning, and vise versa at night, so hopefully I can get them to add her to the rotation too. It'll make me feel a lot better once she's made some friends and has some of the other people living there to watch out for her.

I love storms, too...but I'm not so sure I'd be on the porch watching out for tornados! After "SuperStorm Sandy", I do have to admit, I'm a little more fearful/respectful of Mother Nature.

Well now that was a bit of a surprise!

Down 110 points in 2 1/2 hours, but China's not eating at all tonight. Barely ate anything since this morning.

Sure hope she feels better tomorrow!!
 
My goodness, China has been on a roller coaster today! She must be exhausted (and you, too!). Maybe that's why she isn't eating. Hopefully she'll perk up soon. Sending good appy vines.

It's nice that the police will go and check on your DM when you didn't get an answer, but how scary is that? I was going to suggest getting one of those phones for the hard of hearing that have a light that flashes, but if she was asleep, that wouldn't have helped. I hope that doesn't happen again!

Eat your fuds, China!!! Please? Sending feel better vines, too.
