They took him back for his surgery. I stayed with him for a long time and he rested his head in my hand the way he loves to do. He did a lot of purring and when I put my head down on the table with him, he closed his eyes for a nap. cat_pet_icon

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. I know that all of them will help guide him through this.

My heart is all yours until he recovers. If any kitty can get through this it is BigMac. He is in good hands with his surgeon and you being there to give him love. I know how heavy your heart is with worry. I wish I could lift your spirits and make everything better. Hang in there BigMac, your mom needs you.

Keep fighting BigMac! He has so much spirit, Carolyn. He wants to live and he's a fighter. The surgeon thinks it will work or he wouldn't try it. Think positive. I'm sending out wishes as strong as I can. Feel our love and healing vibes BigMac! Hang in there, Carolyn. You must be going nuts. Thanks for the updates. We're all with you.

I want to believe that the surgeons think this will be a success. I DO believe. Yes.

Now I'm going to try for some distraction and eavesdrop on people in the waiting room. I left the door open in the exam/waiting room where I am.

Not much is going on.

But last night a dog came in that had been bitten by a copperhead snake. The staff was all excited because the "Mom" killed the snake and brought it in with her doggy. Yeah, Mom!
(The dog is going to be fine.) But while I was back in the treatment room crouched on the floor, I had to laugh because one of the techs poked the snake on a muscle and it jumped. You should have heard the squeals from the girls and WHOAS from the guys; then laughter when they realized the snake was still dead. :lol:

Carolyn,

I've been amazed at how resilient our cats can be, especially when given every chance to overcome. You've given him that, and adding in all your love and caring, BigMac couldn't be in better hands.

Thinking of you both, and holding you close in thoughts and prayers. Fight BigMac, fight! You can do this! Hoping and praying this surgery does the trick, and of course sending all the positive energy, snowflakes, and healing vines we can find!

Two hours into the surgery, no news yet. That's probably good.

So now I've decided that mingling with the other patient 'parents' might not be such a good idea after all. :shock:

I was chatting with a nice lady about her Schnauzer and her tummy ache, when the lady's DH piped up with a comment that was so over the top that I had to laugh. He said - perfectly seriously - "Oh, they put you in THERE!" I tilted my head...?? He said "You know that is the death room. They put you in there when your pet is dying."

You should have seen the look on his wife's face! She yelled, "Vance!! Don't SAY that!" I just laughed a little and said I wasn't worried. I was put in there because of the length of time I'm going to be here and it has a sofa instead of those hard benches.

As soon as I stepped away for a minute I could hear the wife just letting loose on her DH. It was kind of funny. :lol:

all fingers, toes, paws and hooves crossed here! (and that's scarey cos Harvey has a hard enough time remembering which hoof goes next, so if they are crossed he's gonna be super confused!! left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.... DOH!!!!! ohmygod_smile )

still here. with my big old maine coon cheering for Big Mac.

and that poor man has a terrible case of "paw in mouth" disease. he will pay for that comment for the rest of his life - his wife will no doubt tell everyone she knows. it'd make a perfect cartoon strip. :lol: this is why men get razzed so badly - cuz their wives make sure their "oops" comments never go away. :-D

i'd go for the sofa too.

seems like everyone loves Big Mac and Carolyn. :YMHUG:

That site is hilarious Celi. When I'm bummed I will read it. I am doing a happiness project where I have to seek out happiness and laughs. It hasn't failed me yet. I couldn't find the facebook fail site I read a few days ago. I really wanted to post a specific one but I forgot to bookmark it. It was bad.

The hugs and laughs are really helping me keep my sanity. What sanity I had. Will have order some more from Amazon or do ya' think I'd maybe get a better deal from E-bay?

When I typed an earlier post I said something about laughing out loud and autocorrect typed, laugh out louse. :? Didn't want you to think I had cooties so I fixed it. :lol:
