Yesterday's Condo

I think Cinco is telling me he does not want a dosecrease! He doesn't seem to want a reducie, either. However, if he really likes this dose, I wish he would give me more blue pre-shot numbers. We beans are never happy, are we?

Cinco kept his snack down last night (the one he inhaled immediately after his first-ever barf). He ate only half his first breakfast, which has become a pattern with him lately, but cleaned up every speck of his second breakfast and asked for more (which he got). He stopped half-way through to visit the lb and leave me a large, smelly prezzie :o :? , then returned and cleaned off his plate. Scooping boxes and deodorizing the house is next on the agenda!

Mealtime has become more interesting around here, as I am testing different foods in an effort to get the phosphorous level down. We have been alternating with the beloved Friskies, but we used the last can (except for the Special Diet Turkey) of Friskies yesterday and are now completely on the lower phosphorous foods. Amazingly, we've found several that all four participants will eat, and a few that only one picky kitty turned up his or her nose at. Some are on the second trial already. This morning was Wild Callings Jumping Salmon, and that was a hit. They don't seem to like the shredded varieties, most likely because they've been eating pate for so long, so the BFF flavors have met with only moderate success. I like pate better, anyway, as I think it's easier to mix the supplements into. I'm going to stock up today on the three or four varieties I know they all liked more than once, and maybe get a second and third can of the ones they liked on first trial. Who knew feeding kitties was this complicated?

BTW, I don't think Cinco's tummy upset was caused by a new food, as dinner last night was Evo's 95% chicken and turkey, which has been in the rotation for several weeks.

Well, I must go do something about that lb. I'll try to visit some more condos later.

Sending healing vines to all in need, including Amy's dad, and hugs to all the beans.

Cheers to Jersey and Davidson on continued success in their OTJ trials and a big WHOOO HOOOO to Boots on their 14th day of the trial. :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Nope, never happy. Maybe OTJ kitties, their beans are happy.  Fantastic that you are finding multiple low phos foods that are getting the paws up from everyone. :-D :-D

I'm glad Cinco's tummy is feeling better today. It drives me crazy that they can't tell us when they feel bad and we have to guess by how they behave. Nice that you were successful in finding several low Phos options for your gang! FD and CKD at the same time is a frustrating challenge to be sure. I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!

Nice slide for Cinco today. I'm glad you're finding new fuds that everyone likes.

Hi Tricia. I'm glad that Cinco is still showing you some  today, and hopefully tonight. I'm glad his appy came back after the barf. Good luck with the fuds trials, it sure would be a challenge with so many ;-) . I hope you enjoyed the scooping and deoderizing ( ) and are having a good weekend. Hugs!

Hi Tricia,
Nice slide today! :-D
I hope Cinco is surfing green/blue.
Yay on large prezzie!

By the way, Wild Calling Salmon isn't so low phos.
Ann made some corrections in her calculation, and is kindly sharing the info with us here... in case you missed it. :-D

Look at all those pretty green numbers!!

Way to go Cinco!! Now your mamabean would like some better pre-shot numbers....you think you can work on that? I mean after all, she spoils you rotten, takes such good care of you and she's not asking much!!

Good luck with the fuds! Of course as soon as you find something they all love, they'll cease to believe it's edible

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Tricia!

Re: 4/19 Cinco AMPS 270 +4 164 +6.5 92

I simply don't know how you do it! It seems like we tried every different brand and flavor of low-carb canned food on the market when we first switched to canned. The only thing everyone would eat?......Fancy Feast! :YMSIGH:

Sending more prayers for Cinco tonight. What a nice cycle today!

Re: 4/19 Cinco PMPS 222

Thanks for all the visits and good wishes.

Mariko, I did not see that update. Thank you. I only ordered the salmon and the chicken. I haven't tried the chicken on them yet. The salmon may be higher, but it's still a lot lower than the Friskies and Fancy Feast they're used to. They liked it but didn't love it, so I may just keep it as a once in a while option.

Shelly, they reject more of them than they approve. I think the key is figuring out that they prefer a certain texture - in our case, pate, and not going too far out on a limb, like with duck or venison (although they all love the max cat venison and duck that are chunks in sauce).

Chris, you are so right. That's why I don't buy more than a couple cans until they've eaten a particular kind at least three times. I've been stuck with a case they won't eat before!

Hi Rachel! I can't say I enjoyed the scooping and deodorizing, but scooping is easier with my littler lifter! :-D Hugs back! :YMHUG:
Amy you are so right. You wonder, is it just a passing bug, something they ate, that they ate too fast, or something much worse??? Absolutely enough to make you insane. :dizcat

Liz, I agree. During the time he was OTJ, I was so much more relaxed and happy - too relaxed, I guess.

Thanks, Carla. It's definitely major trial and error. I have a stash of FF and when someone absolutely won't eat something, I give up after about an hour and slip them a little of it. I try not to do that too often, because I don't want them to hold out for it. However, I don't want them to go tooooo long without fuds! It's frustrating!

Have a great night, everyone!

Re: 4/19 Cinco PMPS 222

Wrong way, Cinco!! I hope his tummy settled and he like the new fuds. It is such a challenge when you have to deal with more than one issue.
