The facility where dad is and where I work on Saturday has been lucky so far. No has been sick. Have no idea if anyone, employees or residents have been tested. Hoping we are spared.

My nephews extended family not so lucky. His wife's stepfather died from virus on Wednesday. Her mother started symptoms yesterday. They are now strict quarantine at home. The house is being disinfected. Not sure how that's being done. I did see an ad about a month ago that a pest control company now does house disinfectant treatment for virus. Don't know what that entails.

They are far enough away from us, so don't have to worry about getting it from them.

We here will keep carrying on best we can.

I was thinking about your dad yesterday Paula, I am happy to hear that everything is ok in that facility.
IMO the one thing that both your gov't and mine should/could have realized much earlier was how vulnerable the long term care homes would be to covid-19.

Good to hear about your dad.... not so good about nephew's family. :( There are more safety measures being put into place in our province to protect the elderly and those in long-term care.

IKR. I saw on the news one facility had a lot of deaths in a few days but because coroners are not involved in facility deaths there is no way of knowing if it was the virus. Somehow when the latest in that facility died a coronor was involved and then they found out about the other deaths as the bodies were still in their tiny morgue because they couldn't be moved because of lock down. It's to late to test them now.

And one hospice center changed and is only taking in covid patients so their family can be with them when they die. In full protective gear of course. But patient isn't alone and family can say goodbye. Well done to that hospice center.

I hope you have every piece of protective gear that one can possibly have when you're working Paula. Stay safe! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I get mask, gloves and all the sanitizer and spray cleaner I want. I have to stay in the reception office and I lock the door so no one can come in. I'm not allowed on the residents rooms floors. First thing I do is wipe down counters, phones, desks. Then everything else in the office.

171. As soon as I moved off the couch she picked her head up and started purring. Guess I just got a creepy cat now.
