Mum spoke to her vet yesterday when she collected Purrdy's blood results - I'll be going over them with a fine tooth comb later but at a glance they look good, civvie Dolly also had hers done and her glucose reading (although still within the normal range) was higher than Purrdy's :) - the vet mentioned she'd been to a feline diabetes conference the day before. Great I'm thinking, then she authoritatively told mum that 3 (54) meant a cat was having a hypo :rolleyes::rolleyes: Mum did mention that Purrdy has been 2.7 (49) and that he was easily brought back over 50 with a couple of tsp of hc - she left the vet looking very puzzled...

Looks like he'll be back into the lagoon later today after a blue rest day yesterday - go Purrdy

My vet, who I like very much, does not like numbers under 5 (90). I just don't mention the lower numbers any more. But he read that article which was posted here recently about management of diabetes, which I sent him and he said he was happy to see they are lowering the overall numbers of acceptable levels for diabetics and that he is going to encourage others carers to home test.

Glad Purrdy's blood work looks good at first glance! And that he's leading the cause to educate vets worldwide ;) Nice to see him in green today!

Well you were right on- Purrdy went straight to the lagoon- go Purrdy! :D:D

Please let us know how the chicken scratch works as a litter; I recently switched to Feline Pine, I don't think Tiger likes it though. But it looks like something Meg would like- because they look like the alfalpha pellets I put in my rose garden.

Sorry to hear about Vyktor's mouth problems :bighug::bighug: It certainly is a growing fear about the dental work, I hear you! I dread it and can't bring myself to make the call, and that was before what happened this week. Have you seen this article on Metacam? If I ever get brave enough to get Tiger to the specialist, I have such mixed feelings on the pain meds. It doesn't look like bupe does anything more than make her too dopey, pluse she can't take much of it.

What a nice day Purrdy!!

Keep up the good work on teaching those vets how it's done!!

Add me to the list of people wondering about the chicken scratch....some of the claims on that site are pretty great, but I find that the better something sounds is usually in direct conflict with how good it really is....but the litter box design looked like it might work well for your house!!

Looks like Purrdy's liking that new dose - work that juice Purrdy...and nice to see him realizing that swimming in the sunshine is at least as good as swimming at night!! :D
