Sigh... either his dose has actually changed or we're chasing some glucose toxicity now. Either way, looks like we're heading back up for a while.
We saw the internist today; I liked her a lot. Not great news, unfortunately. She said the lung mass could just be an incidental finding, and wanted to look for GI or other issues that might explain the weight loss. Ultrasound showed some thickening and other anomalies in his small intestine (also possibly spleen and pancreas, though those might just be age related changes). They did aspirations of the small intestine and spleen. (Also running a B12 check.) We'll get cytology back in a few days. Possible Dx could be intestinal mast cell tumor or intestinal lymphoma. Treatment would be oral chemo and/or steroids, depending on the findings. So that was a long day, on top of another long day yesterday (kid got the kidney stone removed, finally!). I'm a little tired of waiting rooms right now. And poor dude has been eating nonstop since we got home; it was a long day for him, too.
