Good Morning LL! See, we couldn't stay away long!!!
Today is a day much anticipated and dreaded. The Last Travel Day. We've been in Maryland for nearly 3 weeks, shooting final drops, then the OMG start of the OTJ Trial. I had to finish the trial with out stressing him with the trip so I stayed down an extra week. Well, today is the Travel Day with its concomitant threats of barf-o-ramas, wandering liqui-poos, pees on various beddings and drool-fests, all occurring less and less IN the actual litterbox. Today is the last trip in the Magical Box of Terrors. The last time I have to hold my bladder for 4 hours while he doesn't have to hold his.
We had our last morning love session in bed, with a whole hand licking! Last night we shared the final "welcome home from work" greeting at the door, love, chewing on mommy, laser tag, chunk-of-steak crazy feast, several rounds of Got-Your-Tail, watching TV together, smoke alarm (oops on heating up those scones) and last sniffs in his window. We were in his window watching the going's on and blooming trees together for a while last night, calm and peaceful, and watching his sniffer going to town (ok, I was standing on the bed to look out). Right now he is in his bed, underneath the table at my feet. So I imagine this is the last time for my ever-present computer-surfing companion.
This is all so bittersweet. I am tearing up.
Ok, enough of that. You CURED the cat, dammit! He deserves no more travel drama. Him a Good Boy. (((Leo)))
Oh! I forgot to share something with you at Leo's OTJ party. ohmygod_smile The day before we started his trial, my team went to our regular Tuesday lunch at the Chinese restaurant. This is what my fortune cookie said, smilies and all:
I saved the fortune and taped it to Leo's traveling supply box. Then that night, we had the 4th drop below 50 (and one to 35) on 1/2 drop of insulin. One of you told me, a reduction from 1/2 drop is to just wave the syringe in his general direction
Suddenly (to me) the trial had no choice but to start the next morning. Two weeks later, all that work paid off. It will always warm my heart to think about that fortune
We'll be loading up the car and pushing back from the gate around 3pm today. The drive averages 4 hours. Travel vines are MUCH appreciated. I know his BGs will go through the roof, and I have everything crossed that he will clear the bounce in a cycle or so like he has the last couple times. Because his has such a wonderful little pancreas!
Have a Fantastic Fursday all!
