? 4/18 Jude | AMPS 276; +4 354; PMPS 253 +4 157 Question about dose increase

Question about dosing. The vet and I are assuming Jude is experiencing an FIC flare. I took urine in for UA last Monday, and there was no bacteria. I have been giving him Gaba + Prazosin (anti-spasmodic) since, but we're not seeing much improvement. This happened the last time--it took a while for Jude to get back into normal numbers, and I'm thinking, as is the vet, that it's because the Gaba is not strong enough to adequately ease the pain. So, we are starting him on Bupe, which I've just received in the mail and will start tomorrow.

Jude has been hovering in these higher numbers for a week now. I bumped him up on Monday. Should I give him another increase? I'm a little worried about what will happen once the Bupe kicks in (assuming it will) and lowers Jude's pain, which could then lower his numbers.
 
One thing you might want to talk to the vet about is pregabalin. It is related to gabapentin, but a bit better for pain. I've just started it with a kitty at home. Side benefit is the increase in appetite.

I would increase to prevent glucose toxicity. And let the numbers tell you when and if he needs less insulin due to pain relief.
