Yesterday's Condo

Good Morning, LL! Happy Friday!

I overslept this morning, but Cinco made sure I was wide awake pretty quickly. I was having a hard time getting enough blood out of his poor little ear at +4 and wasted a strip. I finally got enough to trigger the meter, and it said 10!!! :o  :o I took a deep breath and told myself it was not enough blood. Meanwhile, Cinco was calmly eating his second breakfast. I tested again and got 60. Whew! I thought I might get a green number, after that nice low PS, but holy cow, I wasn't expecting that! He is doing well this morning with his usual two Ps in place (Peeing and Preening - he rarely Purrs, altho the Oncologist said he was purring for them when they had him for testing and everyone was fussing over him. He almost never Plays, and he's not due for a Poo until tonight or tomorrow).

I was just thinking this morning how well Sasha has been doing since I started giving her the Slippery Elm Bark. My mistake. She didn't want her breakfast, so I left it in her usual spot. When I went up later to check on her, she hadn't touched it and I couldn't find her, but I heard the unmistakable sound of a cat heaving. :o . She'd been munching on her dry stash, and threw that up. I cleaned it up and turned around to find her eating her breakfast!! Guess she got whatever was upsetting her out of her system. Cats!

It was so nice to hear from Rachel this morning. I'm still keeping her in my prayers.

I was so happy to read a good report on Lucy's first day post-dental. :-D
More cheers for the OTJ trial kitties! Keep up the good work, Davidson, Boots and Jersey! :RAHCAT

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Hi Tricia!

I don't think I've posted on Cinco's condo before but just wanted to stop by and say hello. I've lurked Cinco's condo's since even before switching over to LL. His is such a special story. Looks like he's having a lovely cycle today, despite the momentary-heart-stopping 10 on the meter!

Hi Tricia,
Nice surf, Cinco!!!
I am so glad that 10 was an error! :o
And I'm also glad to hear that Sasha turned around and ate her fuds!

Thank you very much for the dental vines yesterday and I really appreciate you've been thinking of Lucy and checking back on her.
Especially since you have enough to worry about with Cinco.
You have such a big heart. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 4/18 Cinco AMPS 192 +4 60 +5 65 +6 76

I'm glad Rusty has some company in the lagoon today.   Were you a bit jealous that Cinco purred for the vet?

I'm glad Cinco's doing so well. Wow on that 10. That does stop your breathing for a minute. I'm glad it was a bad reading.

Poor Sasha. I'm glad she was able to eat and keep it down.

Re: 4/18 Cinco AMPS 192 +4 60 +5 65 +6 76

Thanks for the visits, Carla, Mariko, and Liz. Nice to meet you, Jen. I lurk on condos without posting, too. There just aren't enough hours in the day!

Yes, that 10 really got my attention. I'd never seen that before. Good thing he was behaving so normally or I'd have really freaked out. :o  :o

Good catch, Liz. I was very jealous when they told me they had Cinco purring. For the first two years we had him, I didn't think he could purr. Then one day, after he went blind, I was rubbing his head and I heard this little rattling sound. It sounded very rusty, like it was long out of use, but it was definitely a purr! I almost cried (I guess I cry pretty easily when it comes to cats  ). I've only gotten him to purr one other time, so I couldn't believe it when they told me that. Now it's my mission to get him to purr for me more often. Wish me luck!

Maybe get DH to help and you can both pet him at the same time. Good luck! :-D  Vines for Sasha too.

Hey Tricia,

Another beautiful day for Cinco! I think Jersey and Cinco have been in cahoots, though, because she gave me a PMBG tonight of 22. Even though she's OTJ right now, it still stopped my heart for a second. I can't imagine how bad it must have been for you! (Note to self: Put computer to sleep when you take a break so Jersey can't PM other kitties on FDMB and plot our demises. )

I've been keeping up with your condos the past couple of days but realized I hadn't actually posted to you since your oncologist visit. I completely understand your decision to hold off on any further treatments (chemo) right now. It's so obvious that you love that little ol' kitty so much.....you're thinking of him and his quality of life above all else. I know you've been faced with a lot of difficult decisions lately, and I just wanted to let you know that you have my unconditional support no matter what decisions you make - now or later. I'm sending lots of hugs your way. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Have a great night!
Shelly

Yo Cinco,
Thanks for joining me in the lagoon tonight. It's a good evening for a surf.
Rusty

Hi Tricia, Cinco is doing fine. How's his belly shave? Is he leaving it alone? Have a good weekend with maybe even a purr or two.

Hugs , scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 4/18 Cinco AMPS 192 +4 60 +5 65 +6 76

Beautiful day for Cinco. I agree with Shelly that these cats have to stop plotting! What a heart stopper on the 10! My meter goes to lo which just means below 20. Had one a week or so ago when I was expecting a green and I'll admit my hand was shaking as I retested. Whew! 60 is much better.

I hope Sasha stays healthy - that dry food stash is bad for her digestion.

Have a great evening Tricia.

Re: 4/18 Cinco PMPS 250

Hoping this is not a bounce - hard to say, since he often has a mid-yellow PS.

Thanks for stopping by, Shelly, Ella and Wendy. I appreciate all the support.

Cinco did have a good day, and then he decided to stress me out again by not being interested in dinner. He's NEVER turned down dinner. Sometimes he only eats half, but he always wants the rest later. Tonight he just licked it once and turned his head. He didn't act nauseated, just disinterested. I know he likes this flavor - all my kitties love it (EVO 95% Chicken and Turkey). I was especially worried as he'd already gotten the shot when he turned away. I followed him around with the plate, and after he went to the lb and peed, he finally settled on the sofa. I put the plate in front of him and walked away, and a few minutes later I came back and he was licking the last drop up! Ahhhhhhhh! He even accepted another couple of spoonfuls! Wretched cat. I think he is indeed in cahoots with Jersey!!

Shelly, I guess Jersey's pancreas is making up for lost time! It's good you're still watching her so closely. A 22 is almost as scary as a 10  :o - more so if it's real! Thanks for the kind words.

Wendy, Sasha's "stash" is an automatic dispenser up on a plant shelf where only she and Harvey go. It contains Hill's TD. Their vet wants them to have it because Abys are prone to dental issues. Harvey has to have his teeth cleaned at least once a year, but since Sasha's been eating the TD, she's only needed it every other year or so. They don't get a lot of it - it's more of a snack. They used to have teeth pulled every time, but neither has needed an extraction in several years. I'll take the occasional barf in exchange for healthy gums. :-D

Rusty, I see you are still in the lagoon. I can't promise that Cinco will be back to join you tonight, but he sure had fun with you this afternoon. He's sleeping it off now. You keep it safe, buddy. That was quite a dip you took today!

Well, I'd better get our dinner going. Have a great night everyone!

P.S. I forgot to mention: Cinco is keeping his belly extra clean, but so far he is not licking it to the point of irritation. If I see him cleaning it excessively, I tell him to stop, and he does!

Re: 4/18 Cinco PMPS 250 +3 101 +5 62

So now I'm worried again. Just as I was coming over to Cinco to do a +5 test, he started coughing. He never coughs. As I got to him, he threw up. He's never thrown up, the entire time we've had him. I tested him and he was at 62. I have no idea if that had anything to do with his tummy upset, but after I tested him, he homed right in on the plate of bonito flakes and freeze dried salmon I had brought and ate it all! :? WTH??? Now he's sound asleep on the sofa. I don't know what to think.

Re: 4/18 Cinco PMPS 250 +3 101 +5 62

maybe you got a little kitty stomach virus going around...but good to hear that once they urp it up, they seem to feel better!

Hopefully whatever is going on, it'll be all better in the morning. I know how your imagination starts to think the worst kinds of things every time our kitties sneeze, cough or look at us funny!

Looks like Cinco and China had the same idea tonight...keeping their beans up testing! Luckily for me, we're at +8.5 so I think she's safe for the night now that she's at 98

Of course her AMPS could be just about any number...I just never know

Sending good tummy vines your way and hope Cinco feels better soon!!

Thanks Chris. Sasha and Cinco have almost no contact, so I doubt they're sharing a virus. The other two cats are fine (knock on wood).

Cinco came up some at +6. I didn't give him anything else to eat. I'll check him once more before I go to bed.

I'm glad China is safe and you can get some sleep.

Adding prayers that Cinco's belly feels better and that this is just one of those random "just because it sometimes happens" tihngs!
