As I sat here this morning thinking about putting up my weekly Caturday Condo, I could not help but think about Mannie. Two years today it has been since he crossed to the Bridge. I did make a Mannie Condo today, just for him, somehow how it seemed fitting. We have lost so many kitties this year.... I tried to remember them all, whether they were FDMB kitties, or FB kitties. I will hope that all that have lost their furkids that they can find the sense of peace and fulfillment, and happiness that I find when I think of him. He was such a gentle soul, I know he'd want it that way. After all - Mannie said so!

Good Morning LL!!

I hope everyone has had a great week. We have been.... well, busy again!
I just can't imagine not being on the go.
It keeps us out of trouble, and makes for great times! I often think back on the weeks happenings, and wonder how in the world did we do all that!

It was the same this past week. It has been a good week. We had some firsts: Nicholas's swim lessons, and celebrations: My Youngest son's 28th Birthday, and a remembrance today for our furkid Mannie. Life is indeed good.
It has been a week in the pool!

It has just become the norm for us, we go each week, and just never tire of it. It proves to be such fun for both boys, and their excitement with it all has not wavered.

After nearly a year in the making, Nicholas had his first swim class on Wednesday. OH HAPPY DANCE!

We was registered for Monday to be the first day. he was so exited, all ready to go, lined up in the class line, we found his class and all looked awesome! Until.... it came time for him to out his feet in the water, and at that moment, a nasty case of stage fright took over, and he couldn't get in. Poor kid! So we watched his class that day from the edge of the pool, and hoped all would be OK come class #2 on Wednesday. It was! On Wednesday at first he was a bit timid, but we were early, sat on the edge of the pool, and waited. When it came time for him, he was the first one in and out to the swim dock they use for lessons. Huge success that first class. He did well too. GO NICHOLAS! He had a great week in the pool, lots of underwater work. He has learned to do a breaststroke type pull underwater. That he really likes as he has discovered he can go farther before he needs to surface. William had a great week in the pool too. He tried a few new play areas in the pool, which we a great success. Our swim days this week were Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It felt odd not to swim on Friday night, but a family BBQ for my son's birthday won out.
GO NICHOLAS! GO WILLIAM!
Nicholas: Mat FUN!!
William: Working the Water Cannon!
The boys and I continue to be very busy.
We have had a decent weather week too, sunny skies for most of the days, warm temps, with us hitting the 55/60 mark, 71 on Friday
. It has been a great weather week for our adventures. We have been to the Meadowdale Play Park, Bothell Landing Park, and spent Friday on the river at Big Eddy, Skykomish River. We also spent some time on Wednesday, after Nicholas's swim time with my MIL Connie. That is always a highlight for the boys. I knew we would not be able to skip the Play park after visiting with their Grammie Connie, it is almost a given that we will go, as it is so close. Bothell Landing Park has become a big hit with the boys. They really enjoy walking the river trail, almost more than they do playing on the playground equipment there. There are a few places where they can access the river, and both make sure that they do. The river is still running a bit high, it will great later on when the levels are lower and they can truly get out "into" the river. With sunny and 70 degree weather on Friday, it was a given to me that we would make a river trip. The spot we visit outside of Gold Bar is perfect for them, allows lots of river play, a small hiking trail, and just outstanding views. Since we knew we could not swim that night,we had Nicholas's Burger Feast that afternoon on the river. It was nice too in that this way William could participate too. Seems he loves it as much as Nicholas. What an awesome day on the river. We even saw an osprey working the river. That was truly awesome. We wrapped up the week with a BBQ for my son Matt, a family get together to celebrate his birthday. It was nice in that he wanted to cook, and I was more than happy to turn that over to him. he has such a good assistant in Nicholas. He was so thrilled to be helping with the BBQ'ing. It has been a very nice week.

And just for fun: William loves my empty Starbucks coffee cups. He will gather them up (yes, sorry to say, there are more than one
, and just pretend whatever it is that 1 year olds pretend when they walk around with them . He had two in tow together this week, cute!
and those darn chip raids during Mickey Mouse Clubhouse continue....
For my own personal time, I continue to hike the local trails here when I can. I still haven't made that mountain hike, but all in good time on that one.
I also made a few treks to the old favorite: Meadowdale, on Saturday last and Monday. Tuesday, after breakfast with my eldest son Anthony, I went hiking in the Darrrington area, to a spot called Beaver Lake. LOVED that! The drive to Darrington was nice, and hike was very good, a perfect one for when on only has the afternoon available. The trail parallels the Sauk River, offers alot of views, and river access. I will have to take the boys there later on in the summer. I hiked to the trials end, the sight of a washout from years back. I could only imagine how great the rest of the trail would have been. The washout is big, it is very doubtful that the remainder of the trail will ever be restored. On the way home I stopped in at the site near the Oso landslide tragedy, to see a place I have driven by many a time: the North Fork of the Stillagumish River. That too was ever so nice, and another spot I will have to take the boys too. That was a perfect wrap up for what was a very good day for me. WOOT !

The kitties are doing well. I wrote this last week, but it still holds to be true: Elsa is still into her game, active, and getting out when she wants, 18.5 years and still making her rounds. As I wrote last week, I am still somewhat worried abut her, as she still is as skinny as a rail, despite my attempts to get some weight back on. I know this could be just age, but still... She is not eating as much as I'd like, but that seems to be affecting all of the kitties here. Much less food being consumed by all. Hmmmmm... maybe it's just the seasonal change, as for all other intents and purposes they are well, activities are normal. Bug is being Bug, my stoic affectionate Mannie wannabe kitty. Thank you Mannie for sending him to us, he is so much like you.
Lola is well.... Lola. Still my wild and crazy girl. With the arrival of spring weather she has been in the "LET ME OUT!" mode.

Five escapes last week! Two the week before!
And last night was at 10PM when all were leaving my sons' party.
So there I was searching in the dark for a cat that just wanted to run and play. I chased her all over the neighborhood.

Crazy cat. So.... we are back to thinking about how we can feasibly build something that will let her get out but still confine her to the yard. If only she would stay in her yard..... NOPE! Hooray for kitty treats, which she can resist.
Other than that, Normalcy in Three MusketeerVille! Maybe that is normal. Crazy cat.
LOLA! My wild and crazy girl...
Have a great Caturday everyone. Time for me to go and spend some time outdoors. The day is sunny and warm, I think the local trials need my attention.
