Good evening,
it was a strange week and we are back in the high numbers after very low numbers in the night from sunday to monday.
After her pm shot on sunday she started going down very early and quite rapid. At +4 I was able to draw a blood test when she was 70 on the Libre and she was 107 on the Accu Check. I got scared because it was so early in the cycle and she was going down with rapid speed. The lowest on the libre was 64 with the arrow pointing straight down and I gave her lots of high carb stuff in slight panic.
The next day I reduced again (to 2.25 IU) because - even though I didn't see a 89 on the handheld - I felt that she was dropping to0 fast and early and I could only stop it with lots of food. Maybe that was another mistake I made because the last two days we saw only red and pink. :-( I don't know if this could be a bounce from the low numbers before or if the dose is too low? One good thing happened: After eating was such a struggle she is eating quite normal the last two days. Maybe that also makes the bg higher?
Next week we have the surgery (removing a lump under a wound not healing) which makes me also anxious to dose her right. My vet said I should not feed her 3-4 hours before the surgery but should give her the normal dose. I could feed her before the injection and than she would fast until the surgery at +4. I don't know when she wakes up and if she would eat then but it sounds like a long time without food on her normal dose. I will ask for suggestions on that the next week.
I hope everyone has a safe and calm night!
