BE KIND.jpg
LOVELY DAY.jpg

Had a terrible night! My poor Ravan was peeing everywhere ,every 5 mins. He was in my bed & I had pee pads all over but he'd pee a tiny bit & get up & move. He didn't want to lay near the spot. I kept changing pads till I had to wash them all.

I wonder what is irritating his bladder? Does the D-Mannose stimulate him to urinate? He wasn't doing this Yesterday during the day. This morning he's still peeing . He goes to the litter box frequently & only pees a tiny bit. (No blood in his urine)

He's not interested in eating either. Neither is Peggy Sue. :(

Sorry about the UTI, are they culturing to make sure you have the right AB? Peeing a tiny bit frequently can also be from cystitis. It can be painful, so usually gave bupe for it, hopefully the CBD will help.

Has Ravan’s calcium been tested lately? He was on the high end last year and now you are adding calcitrol. From what I read, high calcium can make them pee more and have inappetance.

Has Ravan’s calcium been tested lately?

The Calcitriol is given 2 X a week. It's a nano dose compounded. Sept 7th his Calcium was 10.8 . April 9th it was 11.3 up a bit but His Phosphorus was 5.7 in Sept & now it's down to 4.2.
calcium X phosphorus = 61.56 a bit high,should be 60 or lower. Now it's 47.46 GOOD

Do you think I should give him the Clavamox & D-Mannose or just stick with the D mannose? So far this evening he's not peeing as much & he's eating better.
I read that using an antibiotic can set him up for more UTI's?

I could not get any urine sample. He was just squirting tiny amounts all night & this morning. With the kidney disease he's been peeing a lot & drinking a lot all along. But the UTI caused the frequent small amounts.

Just wondering how the vet diagnosed a UTI. My civvie had cystitis and with it he also peed frequently and small amounts. Hard to treat if you don't know exactly what he has. What format is the Clavamox? Any chance it's got sugar in it?

Upper end of calcium on Ravan's labs is listed as 10.8 so he is now out of range. Definitely a balancing act.

@Wendy&Neko

My Vet knows my financial situation I guess he just did what I could afford. With both cats being sick I've spent way too much in just the last month. Labs work & Xrays, meds It all adds up fast. I wish I had the money to do all that's necessary but of I keep it up I'll be a bag lady living in a box with my 3 cats!:rolleyes:
I'm doing the best I can with what I have.
