i slept on the sofa last night to monitor punkin, cuz we shot a 122 - but it was uneventful. +2.5=121, +4=114, +5=102

later i woke up to test him, but he had me catlocked, sleeping against my legs so i was pinned. at first i thought he was dead and not breathing :shock: but he was quite alive. it was so nice to snuggle with him that i went right back to sleep and didn't test.

so here we are with an amps of 101. i'd call that teal, wouldn't you? :mrgreen:

Hi guys .. adorable video! Mr punkin reminds me of my boy cheddar .. those big ol' boys are the best to cuddle with, aren't they? I hope punkin surfs these numbers today, he's looking really good! Have a great day guys!

NICE!!!! Flat low blue, punkin, those are normal numbers! :-D Maybe it's a catnip-induced haze? He is so excited to be outside. :lol: :lol:

yuppers i shot the 101. it's probably the lowest we've shot, but maybe not. after helping other people it's not fazing me at all. ok, not much. :lol:

i took him outside after we got back from getting the blood draw at the vet's. he's such a tolerant little guy, but i could tell he was traumatized from how he climbed up on me. figured a little catnip break was just the thing.

yes, i liked it when he stuck his face in the camera too. "why are you always pointing that at me?" :lol:

Nice set of greens there punkin! :mrgreen: Just the same colour as the catnip - mamabean is going to have to take you our there more often.

WOW!!! Look at Punkin's SS!! Three cycles b2b in blue/green!! AWESOME!!

Love the video....he sure is aware of things going on around him and I never noticed that little white mitten on his front right paw.

hehe he got a reduction with the 34 at +4, although i would've reduced on the 42 as well.

his pupils contract more at some times than others. for whatever reason, the middle of each day they seem to contract the most. the last few days they've been contracting quite a bit, not totally normal, but pretty good.

marje, how funny. now i need to go look at his feet! :lol: wait, he doesn't have any white on his feet. now i have to look at the video and see what you saw!

he was loving being out, smelling, listening, watching every little thing.

got the results of his senior panel today. mostly pretty good. i don't have any numbers yet, but the vet called with the outline.

thyroid was completely normal.
CBC normal totals, but one type of white blood cells, esinophils, slightly elevated - she thinks he has mild allergies. he does sneeze occasionally.
the protein was at the high end of normal, she said it could indicate inflammation or not enough water - she thought his gingivitis could explain it.
BUN is slightly elevated & Creatinine is high normal, both the same as last time
glucose was 149

the urine test showed the urine was somewhat dilute, which she thought was perhaps an indicator of an early kidney problem. she said cats are very good at concentrating their urine. i told her i add water to his food, but she thought that wouldn't explain it. she also said there was +1 level of glucose in the urine. she thought that was a little surprising because his glucose was at 149. i didn't ask her, but i wondered if because urine would reflect the previous hours, perhaps it was because yesterday's amps was 285 and he was just clearing the bounce at noon when the urine was collected.

i'll get the actual numbers next time i'm in. if anyone has thoughts on the labs, i'd be interested.

oh, and i'm thrilled at the last few days of BGs, but wondering if he's just set off on another bounce. i thought we might be done with bouncing, but maybe the 34 this morning was too shocking to mr liver.

The first time I see a real catnip plant. All we got here are those dried stuff in plastic bags! :lol:
 
Punkin's numbers have been wonderful! I love the video. :-D Henry loves his catnip plants so much that he falls sound asleep with his head on the plant. :lol:

Great news on mostly normal labs!
 
What a beautiful big boy! I liked how he would look up every few seconds after smelling the catnip plant. He might have been worried that another cat might sneak up on him and try to steal his catnip.

Glad to hear that overall Punkin is doing ok. Not sure what to think about the diluted urine and the +1 glucose. Could be early kidney issues since my CRF kitty, Cleo, has diluted urine (but it is very diluted). I think your explanation about him clearing his bounce makes total sense to me.
 
I watched the video today waiting for my mom and sister to arrive at lunch and loved it. It made my day. Give that glorious orange boy a kiss from me :)
