What the heck is going on here?!?!? After yesterday's fantastic numbers, Morris should be well on his way to RBC!!! Instead, he is continuing with nice numbers?!?! Yesterday happened to be my birthday.....do you think his present to me was graduating from LTS?!?!? Could this be the start of his way to regulation?!?!?

AMPS 160

WCR: He did not finnish all of his food last night.....I would say there was about 1/8 of what I put out last night still in his dish this morning (I had put out 1/2 can Merrick mixed with 1 can Fancy Feast). All P's are working just fine! He is ready for me to give his ears a break though! LOL!

Today's schedule.....will be out this morning (will do a check just before we leave though) and will hopefully be home around +5 or +6. Not sure what is on the schedule this afternoon/evening....I will probably be close to home though.

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

I'm not saying a word. Morris may be messing with you or he may have something else in mind entirely. After all, he's a cat! Either way, it's a great present!!

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

Cool! Great stuff. I wish I knew what RBC is! Haven't I been here long enough to know???

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

Sure is a nice day in this condo today.. I like what you've done with the place ;)..

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

How wonderful! Now I see why you treated yourself to bfast yesterday! (all the while, Morris sitting at home plotting his surprise for you! )

Maybe the 200's last night WAS his new rbc and it is clearing. Whatever it is, its quite lovely. I hope he is as proud of himself as you are!

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

I'm curious.. what is your feeding schedule typically with Morris.. (how many meals/size, do you leave food out in the AM before work? have a feeder?, etc)

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

Noisy could take 48 hours for his bounces to show up. On the flip side -- maybe Mr. Liver graduated training camp.

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

I used to use a timed feeder & portion out his meals/snacks. However, after his p~itis flare, he did not seem to be able to work with the feeder any more.

Now, I dish out his food into his divided dish from the feeder as I used to do, but I do not close the lid on the feeder. I let him decide when & how much food to eat. Normally, I put out 1/2 can Merrick Cowboy's Cookout mixed with 1 can Turkey & Giblets Fancy Feast into his dish every 12 hours.

That would be nice!

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

Well, this sure is cool! Happy Birthday indeed! In the past it looks like Morris's bounces started sooner than this.... so I'd be encouraged.

Traci - RBC is Lantus-land slang for Rebound City, where you'd prefer not to visit, and if you do, you want it to be a quick trip.

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160?!?!?!?!

Hmm yeah I'm just wondering if you got food into him at the right time during his lows.. so instead of his liver going ZOMG!!! it was more like.. there's food coming.. it's cool..

I wonder about give the feeder another shot maybe? could put some nummies in each compartment (freeze dried treats or something) with the snack to try and talk him into going for it? Whether he ends up bouncing or not.. seems like a positive change in patterns for him either way.. so just trying to think of ways to help it along..

Still not exactly sure what is going on here!!! I am beginning to get a bit scared! nailbite_smile

It seems that there are many people on this board who favor using timed feeders & an equal amount of people who favor the free feeding method. Since the free feeding method is working for us, I think we will stick with that for now.

Don't be scared! Be happy! This is great stuff! Maybe Morris was paying attention in liver training school.

Belated Happy Birthday Gwen :-D What a nice day your Morris is having.

I also forgot to mention earlier that I took Morris to the vet's for a quick visit today - just to have him weighed. He is now 5.9kg or 13 lbs - a little heavier than his ideal weight of 5kg or 11 lbs! My vet was not in today, but I did drop off an updated copy of his ss for her to see next week, plus a little typed out update from me as well. In the note, I did ask for her opinion on the dental issue. She can look at the notes in his file made by the other vet we saw back in Feb & then let me know what she thinks.

Your weekend is not going as I had planned!!! I figured ok.. get her to catch how low he is actually going.. it'll help things make more sense... he'll bounce..and she can get some sleep.. you are going to need a vacation after this weekend!!!

But what a lovely weekend it is.. hopefully the adrenaline of the low numbers is helping you stay awake :).

Re: 4/17 Morris AMPS 160; +7 88;+9 70; +11 54; PMPS 54

Morris did not eat all of his food today....he left 1/4 of it untouched. I think I remember hearing that as he becomes regulated, he may not need to eat as much food.....is that correct?

LOL! Yes, I did manage to sneak in a nap this afternoon! That is why I missed his +6 check. We came home at +5.5, I checked on him, went to lay down for 'just a minute' & woke up just in time to get his +7 check in!!!
