Latte was lookin' a little hung over this a.m., laying by her water bowl and eventually discovered her right side COMPLETELY soaked! Must have been some party at Max's last night! She was very grateful for the piano and eventually came out at one point, from what I hear. She wont tell me anymore than that. :roll:

Eating - not sure if it is great. More than the last few weeks, but not what I would call a lot, considering the extra pred. :YMSIGH: She is filling herself up more with water than anything...especially this a.m.

So far, so good (anti-jinx) with the no vomiting. There is some occassional lip licking (pointing to some nausea).

A GOOD thing....She ate her pred treat last night AND this morning! No Pilling!!!! :thumbup She has either lost the association from the problem with it a few weeks ago, OR was just feeling so badly that she didnt even want her treats. Probably a combo of both. Either way she gobbled it up with no problem what so ever! :mrgreen:

So, we have a little action on the new dose this a.m. It seemed to also keep her pretty flat last night. I certainly hope this drop OR number does not cause a bounce. its the last thing she needs, and the last thing I need to collect data for the week. I think the rest of the weekend I will start giving her pred maybe 1hr after her shot, instead of 2. That might help the late/early cycle drops.

Poor girl will be tested a lot today (and probably tomorrow) so I can see what is going on and go into next week feeling a little better. I told her the trade off would be less testing for approximately 9 days! She didnt respond. :roll: I will be able to get some random checks next week, but none of them will really be able to g

Glad she took the treat. Hope your testing goes well this weekend and that this nice trend today holds.

I'm glad Latte is eating and getting her pred treats. I'm sure that makes it a little easier on you. I hope Latte feels good today and can go to Hank's party. Have a great Saturday, Carolyn.

Hope you get your testing done and that Latte does spend some time away from the piano today. Hoping for no pukus either. No more licking lips Latte, okay?

Hi Carolyn & Latte, Stu, who likes to sit under our piano, spent some time at Max's party under the piano discussing music (about which he knows nothing) with Latte. He says that she enjoyed watching the dancing. Latte's numbers look good this morning. I hope that she will feel good, too. You are doing a formidable job keeping up with the meds and staying on top of the symptoms. Have a really good weekend and get some rest so that you can get through your big upcoming week. We are here for support, if not advice!

I am SO glad she ate her pred treats and you didn't have to pill her!! Wooo-HOOOOO! yay for both of you!

Getting some movement on this dose! Hope she hs a gentle drop and nice surf. White-caps not good for surfing! (bounce)

Here's hoping for a great day for you 2! Maybe even naps - all the way around!

Carolyn, I'm so glad, Latte ate for you today..and no pill.
I just read her profile. I always wondered about her health issues, and just now saw the link to her profile.
I'm so impressed at the care you give her. I know you do it out of love for her, not admiration from anyone, but it takes a lot of work and dedication, and you deserve the credit you get!
Now, Miss Latte, I hope you feel peppy enough to attend Hank's party today. All your friends will be there. Checkers said he will hold you very gently, if you want to dance a little. Stu is bringing some yummy foods that just might tickle your fancy. You don't have to eat a lot, just taste little bits, K?

I am so glad that Latte had a good time at Max's party.
He was very insistent in making sure she was comfy.
I heard him come back huffing and puffing.
I think he got some of his buddies to push the piano down to Texas to Hank's party
cuz it's still missing, :lol: :lol:
Anything to make Latte all nice and happy.
Glad to see that she is having some good numbers today.

LOL, Latte doesn't travel light, does she? Good thing the boyz love her enough to push a piano all over the country for her. :lol:

Stopping in to see how Latte is doing today and it look like she is doing just fine! No vomiting, no pilling, numbers lowering, got a troop of frisky felines falling all over themselves to make her happy...gosh, what more could a girl ask for???

Well, this is a kind of day I did not expect! Last week I was logistically trying to figure out the best timing for Latte's 'going away party'. Today was decided to be the day, if things didnt turn around. Apparently they turned around-enough!

I tested almost every hour for a variety of reasons. She was heading low for our comfort, as well as i was trying to pinpoint if the pred peak would be different during the day than night. Strangely, she never got too low (this dose w/only pred in the pm would have zoomed her below 50 in the a.m.,easily). And, the pred never seemed to rear its ugly head! So here are the numbers and some explanations from what I have seen in her pm cycle with pred (for those who are interested):

AMPS-278
+2-180 (pred/subq's, finished approx 1/2 can wellness)
+3-181 (1/4 can wellness)
+4-149 (1/4 can wellness, ate some kibble)
+5-118 (+3 for pred - should be starting peak...where is it?)
+6-110 (+4 typical peak in numbers from pred...huh?!)
+8-119 (+6 for pred - usually drops some...whew! no drop!)
+10-156 (approx 1/3 can ff)
PMPS-184 (pred)

I gave pred at shot time because this is what I prefer...along with a multitude of other reasons I will spare you the details of.

She spent most of her day under the piano, came out for a while once I joined her (dont think she likes me down there with her when she is feeling better :lol: ). She even walked over to her bowl of wet food from the a.m. @ +10. I got her some fresh stuff and when I came into the room to give it to her, she was sitting in the spot...waiting! :o WOW! She is sleeping off the rest of the daylight hours on her throne looking beautiful!

Im curious how this evening and tomorrow a.m. will start. Still waiting for the bounce. I get a sense that maybe a s2.0 would have been sufficient. On the other hand, this is new territory. I dont think any of the data I collected is relevant to how she is going to respond to the split, but higher dose of pred AND insulin. If I need to drop it, I will probably have a good idea by tomorrow night. I dont need to push low this week. But I certainly dont want her sitting inthe 300's.

One more day of semi relaxing until the crazy schedule.

Clearly, Latte is not interested in your planning and data collecting. She is under the piano thinking up ways to outsmart you.

Hi -- nice to see those numbers and read that Latte is having a better day .

wanted to remind that often the benefits of increasing the roid can out weigh the direct effect of roid on BG

^ pred => feeling better, decrease in inflammation and pain => lower BG

Look forward to see what happens next . Hopefully not a big bounce

Well, if tonights cycle is similar to this a.m. we should be good. If it, anything like her pm cycles used to be we may be in a predicament. I will probably have to consider that I am shooting a kibble spike as well.

She just does not want to eat in the pm cycle. I had to put her in front of her bowl many times to get her to eat...and this is after waiting until +4 for her to do it on her own. She is good now.

Also a little concerned about how to get pred in her w/ shot. Im certain she will not take the treat. If I pill her she may go hide and not eat.

Maybe a little sleep will help make it more clear.
