Good morning. I woke this morning to discover that I had not closed the cap on the test strips in the middle of the night in the dark. So I got out my ReliOn Prime meter to double check the ReliOn Premier meter which is the one that I usually use. Prime says AMPS is 99 and Premier says 109 so they’re pretty much the same (maybe I won’t have to throw those strips out after all.) But he won’t eat anything for me this morning so I simply didn’t shoot. I waited an hour and retested him and he is still at 109 on the Premier meter so it hasn’t changed at all yet.

I’m tired and am not going to be on duty all morning. In fact, as I am writing this, I am lying down in bed and typing this on my phone. Darcy is in a room by himself (no other cats) with food so we will see if he eats. But right now I am going to go to sleep for a little while. I will update my SS with last night’s and this morning’s numbers then and will add yesterday’s condo link to this post.

Happy Caturday everyone! I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone’s kitties are doing today and especially to see how @Summer and Susie are doing with the new dose!

Thanks for thinking of us! We started at the beach today (yeaaaaaaaa!). Hope you are asleep, Suzanne, and I wish you a peaceful, non-eventful day of low blues and high greens!
 
Update on what's going on.... after three hours in a room by himself with two different kinds of food that he usually eats, he had eaten nothing. I offered him some Tiny Tiger, and he ate a small amount. BG was 100 prior to food, and I haven't checked yet after. Don't know what his problem is today (hangover from too much food and low numbers?)

I have no idea what I will do tonight. I am definitely not up to another late night. I guess we are really draining that depot now!
 
I'm so sorry to hear this. I always think we can get through just about anything providing our kitties are eating what they need to eat. Do you have any Temptation treats? They are high carb, I'm sure, but Susie will eat them no matter what. Praying Darcy is okay and that you can get him stable and you can rest.

Oh, I had a good three hour nap this morning from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. I am in the process of making a large breakfast (really lunch) for everyone. Then I need to go out to WalMart and buy more test strips. I have used a lot this week. :woot:

Yes. They seem to be okay. They are tracking a little bit higher than my Prime meter, which is typical (10% higher?) So I'm going to use them up. I hope you and Furball are having a good day!
 
It’s so good that you’re getting a bit of a break today. :bighug: Could be the lower numbers causing Darcy to eat less. Ruby reduced her food intake by almost half when she got regulated and even more once she started eating raw. Have a great day, Suzanne!
 
A skip was a good call this morning. That'll definitely help drain the depot. If he is really reacting to the cabergoline, this may be the first, but not the last time you skip. I suspect he's also breaking through some glucose toxicity, yet another reason for the hurry down the dose ladder.

Feel better Darcy - get over that karo hangover. :bighug:

27 units tonight? He is back up to 178 as of a little bit ago and he’s hungry. Jumped up on barstool for testing shooting and feeding
 
Last night was the 30 unit dose talking, so 27 should be OK tonight. I'd also leave the R in the fridge.

Raw food is less volume for the same amount of calories. Neko's got 1 5.5 oz can per day when I was feeding her canned, but 4 oz of raw.

Ruby ate about 6 ounces of Weruva. When we switched to raw she was naturally inclined to eat less. It freaked me out at the beginning, thought she wasn’t feeling well until I realized that the raw beef I am feeding her now has more than twice as many calories per ounce as most of the Weruva foods. I now feed her 4 ounces of food and though she has lost a few ounces, she seems to have good energy.

Yep. That’s what I did. 27 Lev and most definitely no R! He was at 206 PMPS. Thanks!
 
Wow, I haven't logged in for a while and missed all your drama. Mr Darcy really keeping you on your toes the last few days - at least he waited til the weekend? You must be absolutely exhausted. Excellent work.

Thanks! How's Minnie? Keeping you really busy? You've been AWOL lately. I hope she's getting better and better.
