I finally got some sleep but I'm already having a chaotic life morning.

Anyway then we had a definite wet shot this morning. She's holding steady and she's getting 2% and 0% foods for now. Haven't gotten a ketone test yet today.

She's hungry, responsive, talkative. Seems like she feels okay.

How will this throw off the next several days? I'm still technically running a deficit in the sleel department and my electricity is off for probably the next day so I'm just.... basically still at my wit's end.

I spoke to a DHS worker today that has a gf who had a diabetic cat. When I explained why I probably sounded unintentionally cranky, he understood. I know that's not specifically Alice-related, but it was nice to have a little bit of stranger-understanding. As soon as he said "glucose curve" I was like.... you know.

Anyway thank you for any and all responses today. I will be on in short bursts due to technical difficulties.

Cassandra, I am sorry you are having all these hurdles in life right now. I sure hope things on the home front, i.e. electricity and phone issues get resolved very soon. Hopefully you are able to keep your food and insulin cold and have lighting sources like an oil lamp or candles for nighttime. Be careful with any open flame, gal, we don't want anything bad, or worse than you are already experiencing, to happen. Just keep yourself and Alice safe.
Don't waste any cell phone battery charge on responding. Just take care. :bighug:

Had to charge phones in my car. It should be fixed sometime tomorrow. Having it done today would be extremely optimistic.

I didn't think at all about the refrigerator yet. The insulin is a big deal. I will ask my neighbor for help keeping that cold maybe. Thank you for mentioning it!!!!!

In the meantime, I would appreciate info from anyone on how this definite fur shot will affect her cycles.

And no, no flames allowed. I've accidentally set my house on fire before. Luckily it was minor and I believe in smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

I'm glad Alice isn't low today or I'd probably crack.

I'll try to catch some pee later though!

The fur shot may raise her numbers for a day as the depot stabilizes again. There should be too dramatic of a change though as there is that depot that is still working in your favour.

Hope things get better for you soon!

You poor thing with no electricity. Hope it's restored ASAP. :bighug:

Fur shots suck! I was on a roll for a while giving them and I have been doing this for several years. The count starts over again after a fur shot for dose change. As Tracey said, it will take a few cycle ( probably 4 ish ) for the depot to fill in again.

With a recent DKA, get a ketone test daily until she gets out of these higher numbers.

Without power it was kinda hard. She's +363 this morning, she was responsive and hungry last night. Hungry this morning.

Making new post...
