Perfect - another rising number! :D Well done tonight - you and Wrigley both did great! And congratulations on the reduction!! :D :D

Congrats on the reducie :D

For future reference if you see a number under 50 carb first ask questions later! If that number is under 40 carb even faster...

In regard to aborting a cycle, I just wanted to note that unless you know your cat's responses well you should not assume this will work to keep the kitty safe when you're still in the early part of the cycle.

Great job tonight Eric, hope you're having a fabulous sleep now :)

Great job last night!

One thing I will add about managing low numbers is it's best to give the food s little longer to work. You can start to see effects, sometimes, with gravy after 15 mins but it really doesn't kick in for 30 mins and the full effect for an hour. Of curse, when our kitties are low, we don't want to wait an hour. What I usually do to keep from giving too many carbs is wait 30 mins to retest and then decide what to feed unless Gracie is low 30s or high 20s. If she's the latter, I give karo and retest in 15-20.

As an example, if you get a 40, feed a couple tsp of gravy, retest in 15, he might be 43. So you give more HC gravy. But if you waited the full 30 mins, he might be 54 and then you could switch to lower carbs to prevent him from skyrocketing. Unless are intentionally feeding HC to abort the cycle but then you must be sure the last test has been long enough after HC food that it isn't going to wear off and have him come back down. so if you are trying to abort s cycle, it's good to throw some LC in a helping or so to help keep the numbers up once they get up. Does that make sense?

I edited the post on liver values to take out or explain acronyms. Please look at it again and ask me any questions you need to and I can address them. If the lab is Antech, then the reference ranges on the lab tab are correct.
