Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Thank you Elsa! Tess is looking a little better this morning, but probably time for a little more bupe. We're waiting to call the vet as soon as they open. She ate the Weruva Paw Lickin' Chicken really well last night, half a can! Unfortunately it is really low calorie so she needs to eat twice as much. Right now we're waiting to call the vet as soon as they open at 8:00. I considered giving her Orbax last night, but we want to get a C&S done and ABs would have negated the results. I think we must not have totally gotten the one in Feb. cleared up and it has come back. She seems good right now so holding off on more Bupe until the vet can see her or I can at least talk to them.

We closed her up in the bathroom last night, she was trying to squat and pee all over the place. She is out now and went straight for her nanners!

WCR 4 Ps, Clean Plate Club, Vines to all the kittehs in need of them and hugs to all their beans.

Hi guys .. oh no, I'm sorry to hear poor tess is not feeling her best .. I sure hope the vet can get this UTI completely taken care of this time ... have a great day guys!

Tess, I am sending you a beautiful bouquet of healing vines. Please get rid of that UTI soon. I'm sorry you weren't feeling your best at the party last night; but you sure looked good driving that dune buggy real fast!

Tess! Dakota tolz MamaBean you flew da bug over da hills! She jus' laffed. I found da hood lock we lost...MamaBean don' know we stuffed China under da hood. :lol:

Back from the vet and yep, she has a UTI. Orbax and Bupe, this time we got fluids as well to use for the next 2 days to help flush out her system. I have to watch Marje's video again for a refresher! At least this time the Bupe last night had her relaxed enough that there was something in her bladeder to test.

I'm not sure when to give the bupe again, she doesn't look like she's hurting, but it is so hard to tell. She was very mellow at the vet, so I don't think last night's dose has totally worn off.

Sorry for the UTI, but at least you know what's going on now!

Bupe is usually every 12 hours but can be given a little sooner...depends on the dose some though. China was on .2 every 12, but if she started acting "off", I'd give a "light" dose a little sooner

Cats are so good at hiding pain, so sometimes you just have to use your sixth sense that they might be hurting and go ahead and give the bupe. It's easier to control pain if you give it before the pain gets really bad.

Hope the UTI responds quickly and Tess is feeling great again soon! Poor baby!!

Bupe can be dosed two or three times a day (every 8 - 12 hrs). The duration is related to the size of the dose vs. the dose being related to pain relief. My best suggestion is to stay ahead of the pain vs. waiting until you see that Tess is uncomfortable.

Thanks, Sienne. she get .1ml every 8 to 12 hours, the dose I gave her the night before lasted well over 12 hours so I was wondering about reducing it, but the syringe decided all or nothing! So both Tess and i will sleep well for the rest of the night.
