I woke up this morning to piles of puke.
Of course I was afraid to test. He's thrown up more during this trial than in the last 5 months. He normally doesn't puke THIS much. This time it wasn't beef. I saw that he got into a new plastic bag. I left a present I bought last night in it's bag and I caught him standing on his hind legs to reach up and nibble the corner of the bag. UGH!!! I don't think this is the only reason why he puked, I think he's having an IBD episode. He's a tricky cat; I can' never fully figure him out. His health seems to change pretty often.

+3 he was 105 - not a great drop. Then I saw that he didn't eat much of the food I gave him. He must've not been in the mood for that kind. I'll test him again later and I'll bet he'll be back to green. I have a 4 day weekend so I'll be around.

My SIL is giving birth to my first nephew today - he's breech - so she's got a scheduled c-section. I'll go visit tomorrow.

Congtrats to Max on his OTJ Day. Hopefully we'll make it too. nailbite_smile

I hope Boomer is feeling better soon. You've been doing great with that rollercoaster boy.

Boomer, you need to stop eating bad things (plastic bags?), eat your food and get in the green for your momma. We all want to go to your party too.

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM - 125

Yup, that's right, my cat eats plasic bags. Isn't that fabulous? So no garbage pail liners in this house - that drives me drazy! I guess it could be worse though - he doens't claw my furniture or eat plants - so it's not too bad.

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM - 125

I have friends one of whose cats will eat plastic bags -- but only certain kinds of plastic bags. They ended up hanging their trash off of a hook that's too high for the cat to reach. Silly kitties!

Oh, Boomer, hasn't anyone told you that GRASS is a much better snack than those tasteless plastic bags??? Please stop eating those you silly boy!!

Traci, I'm glad that Boomer is bring himself down a little...that throwing up thing certainly cause havoc with their bg's doesn't it. Congrats on making it to day 9!! Looks like there will be another party on hump day next week!!

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM - 125

I'm hoping today will turn green for you! Pukus is never fun, and hopefully it'll calm down soon!

And my Truman also eats plastic bags--and usually finds the ONE I leave on my dresser or something to chew on in the middle of the night and wake me up. My Potter (GA) was a trash monger and would knock over trash cans to strew the contents all over my apartment kitchen. I ended up getting a heavy duty metal can, like this one: http://www.target.com/iTouchless-Fly-Au ... archPage=2 , tho not automated. It keeps the bag contained inside, nothing on the outside for kitty to get at, and heavy enough to not be knocked over. It was quite the expense, but 8 years later, I'm still using it, and it still works great!

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM-125,+5- 58!

58!!!!
Holy crap! I think that's the lowest number he's been off insulin.

I'm going shopping now. Hopefully I'm gonna spend lots of $$$ on myself!

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM-125,+5- 58!

Happy Day 91 Have fun shopping, but I think that 58 means that Boomer wants a prezzie too!

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM-125,+5- 58!

HAPPY DAY 9 BOOMER.

We are waiting for you and it won't be too much longer.
Now stop eating the plastic bags. They are not good for the tummy.

Great drop at +5.
Mr. P is working very well.

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM-125,+5- 58!

Looking great!

(KB gnaws through plastic wrapped items he may come across on the countertop. Fortunately he doesn't eat what he finds inside, it just looks like mice have been there. He DID find a roll once - that was how I discovered he was even able to jump up there again. He had crumbs on his chin, silly boy.)

Re: 4/16 Rollercoaster Boy, Day 9 of Trial, AM-125,+5- 58!

Looks like Boomer is wanting to show of how well he can handle those higher numbers himself  Nice come down man!

My Peanut is obsessed with licking plastic. Thank goodness she doesn't eat it! But she is always climbing to the garbage cans to lick the liner or she gets into an empty bag and loops the handle around her neck and sits there and licks. Not sure why the handle needs to be around her neck, but we haven't been able to convince her not do it

Hi LL-

Boomer gave me another surprising number for PM. Wow. I continue to be shocked by his numbers both high and low.

I went to my vet's office today to pick up some B-12 and I left a message to tell my vet that Boomer's been off insulin for 9 days. I wonder if I'll even get a call? I've not been there for an appointment since his diagnosis. I thought the people working there would be in "shock and awe" when I made my announcement, but it wasn't a huge deal - maybe thay don't know anything about diabetes? Whatever. I'm happy. Boomer's happy. You guys are happy. That's all that matters. I did all of this with no help from them anyway.

Ditto. (on the vet)

Holy ___ again on the PM number. Where are these coming from? surprising, I'll say.

..and Yes WE are happy along with you! :-D :-D

Hey Boomer! I love to lick plastic bags, and pull plastic out of waste baskets, but I don't eat plastic. I like weeds. I'll send you some to try! Great numbers, man! Happy Day 9. See you at Max's party.

Happy Day 9   and I have a 12 yr old aby that will eat the plastic recycling grocery bags if you leave them where she can get at them she chews holes just loves it so I really have to watch where we leave them

Mindy-

I HAVE that garabage pail -the no touch one. So funny that you sent that link. I had a Target gift card and that's what I got with it - it's very expensive but I really like it.

My main problem is that I like to line my little garbage pails (bathroom etc) with grocery bags and I can't now because of my fur freak. I have to use paper bags or no bag.

Um, what flavor gum is Rollercoaster??

This little guy is messing with you!! Maybe if you bring him a toy from your shopping expedition...

I heard that kitties hate citrus. I wonder whether you could change his mind about the plastic trash bag by putting orange peel in it. Probably not -- too logical. Boomer isn't logical!

Enjoy day 10 -- and congrats on your upcoming family-in-law addition!
