This isn't a insulin question but I have been researching about obese cats and causes and things that might help.
I came across info from several sites stating that fat cats might need L- Carnitine and Choline. I am going to e-mail Fritz holistic vet but my question is there anyone on this forum that has their cat on this or have in the past? Or do any of you have experience with either of these?
Yesterday I was searching my pantry and I came across Organic Choline Citrate that my naturopathic doctor prescribed for me. I never did take it but I have it.
Wonder if that is what I can give to Fritz. :)

I've never heard of those supplements. Why do the sites say this is needed?
L-Carnitine is needed by the body for the metabolism of fatty acids. It is an amino acid that turns fat into energy. Signs of deficiency are fatty liver syndrome, obesity, diabetic ketacidosis and hyperlipidemia. Signs are rapid and excessive breathing shortness of breath muscle pain weakness lethargy and exercise intolerance.
Strange thing is these are signs of a laundry list of health issues. I read to only use the pure L-Carnitine. Nice thing is they can't overdose the body gets what it needs and excretes the rest out. Only downside is if you give too high a dose they can get diarrhea.
Choline is a member of the B group vitamins suppose to help the liver to prevent fatty liver disease. Darn if i can find the article that mentioned both.
Somewhere along Fritz life his brain said eat and store as fat don't use as energy.
