Good morning, LL! ~O)

Yesterday's Condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=117194

Thanks again for all of your visits yesterday!

Yesterday's Numbers:
AMBG - 47
PMBG - 52

Early-bird DH got the worm (that is, the AMBG reading) again this morning. He did say that the crew was waiting by the food bowls, so I'm sure the picky eater was being her picky self again this AM.

Jersey trailed me into the bathroom this morning and began meowing as soon as I turned on the water in the shower. She actually does this several times a week. I haven't yet figured out if she's expressing her concern over me disappearing into the shower and never returning again or if she's just expressing her frustration over not yet having figured out a way to electrocute me as I bathe. :? I'm thinking it's the latter. For a while, she used to paw the light switch and turn the shower light off on me as I bathed. A failed attempt at electrocution, perhaps?

Sorry I wasn't able to visit many condos yesterday. The Nyquil kicked in faster than I anticipated.

Sending out lots of thoughts and prayers to all of the kitties and beans today.
Shelly

I hope you are feeling better today, Shelly. I'm sorry you have to work under the influence of Nyquil which I refer to as "nectar of the Gods"

Big travesty at our house last night and I am sure Jersey was involved. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68

bwahahahaha - oh jersey, you make me laugh! what a hoot! it must be like living with a comedian, which as i contemplate I'm not so sure would be fun . . . . :-D

WAHOO on day 5!!!! Congratulations on an awesome ambg! dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

Thanks for your visits today, Michelle, Elise, Ella, and Tara. We appreciate your continued support!

Jen - I'm glad to know Jerz isn't the only one who has mastered the light switch. The first time she did it, it completely freaked me out. Of course, I was in the shower trying to shave my legs at the time. Maybe that's why she did it - in the hopes I would sever an artery! I could see her through the shower curtain when she flipped the switch. She really did look proud of herself, too.

Marje and Carla - Thanks for the well wishes. I feel lousy - it seems my cold is actually getting worse. I'm so ready for Nyquil to take me away tonight. Oh no, wait. That's Calgon. Oh, who cares. Nyquil can take me away tonight. ;-)

Julie - Not comedian.....cruel tormenter..... Of course, she did curl up and take a little nap on my lap as I graded paper this afternoon. I was scared to touch her for fear of waking the beast. ;-)

I'm really trying to be optimistic about our OTJ trial without getting too confident about it. I know we're early in the FD dance and anything can happen. For you "old timers" out there: Have any of you noticed any patterns in failed OTJ trials? What I'm really asking about is whether OTJ trials are more likely to fail in the first few days or towards the end of the 14 days (or in the middle). I know, I know...I'm paranoid (as I believe Liz mentioned the other day)! I just feel better armed with knowledge.

I'm going to try to squeeze in some condo visits before I have to get back to grading (and before Nyquil takes me away). Thanks again for your visits today!

The numbers are looking great for Jersey. Go Jersey!

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

Shelly,
For colds, 12 hour pseudoephedrine 120 non drowsy stuff works wonders for me. I took it all last week and managed to get through 10 hour days.
It's my go to formula a couple of times a year. I just don't take it past 9 AM.

Take care.

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

I thought I saw a mid cycle test today on the SS - remember, the trial is also for you so you learn to step away from the meter!  Jersey's depot should be long drained by now, the numbers she's doing are all on her own. Happy Day 5!

Found a book for you.

Not thinking about this trial failing.....Happy Day 5!!!!

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

My advice: don't borrow trouble by worrying about something that is not likely to happen :-D her numbers look fantastic.

Maybe the paranoia is just the NyQuil talking

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

Hehehe.. someone is gettin' jiggy with Jersey's ears.. testing more than the AMPS and PMPS..

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

i don't see anything that would even make me wonder if she's going to have trouble . . . :-D

just enjoy!

Re: 4/15 Jersey OTJ Trial Day 5: AMBG-68, PMBG-63; Trial Fai

Shelly, are you afraid you'll jinx the trial if you think positively? It is going perfectly and you are doing an excellent job! I am almost sorry it is going so well, as I will miss your funny condos. Please promise that you'll come back and visit after the party and share Jersey's exploits with us.

Meanwhile, hurrah for Day 5! Looking good!!

Thanks for the cheers (and reassurance), Amy, Catherine, & Marje!

Dwight - I wish I could use pseudoephedrine. It gives me funny side effects, though. I appreciate the tip and well wishes, though!

Wendy - I don't even want to admit it.....I've already ready that book! ohmygod_smile   And quit lookin' at my ss and catching me doing things I'm not supposed to be doing!   (You, too, Tina!)

Julie - Thanks for the reassurance on no warning signs. It does make me feel better - still paranoid, but..... ;-)

Tricia - I really am afraid I'll do something to jinx this. It just seemed too "easy" for us as we went into the trial. We weren't able to follow the "rule book" and slowly taper off. (Stupid cat not following the rule book!) I worry her pancreas didn't have the proper time to heal. I guess I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop now. I promise I'll come back and make a "Jersey is plotting my demise" condo. She really does try to plot my demise, so it will be super easy to do. What's more important, though, is that I will be coming back to see how all of you are doing.

Thanks again, everyone! :YMHUG:
