This morning, Ivy has had pretty soft, somewhat mushy stools and they seem to be getting looser.
This is how her pancreatitis started in February. I’m extremely nervous of a repeat bout.
She’s been getting a maintenance dose of half capsule of Jsrrow’s S. Boulardi since February twice a day. (Stools have been normal until yesterday, seemed a bit softer).
After she had loose stools for the second time this morning at 8 AM, +2, I gave her one full capsule of S. Boulardi and started her on 1 ml dose Animal Essentials Colon Rescue, which tends to help her.
She seems slightly less interested in food, but still eating her regular food I’ve had to encourage and hold the bowl.
Praying I can head this off and not head into a full bout again of pancreatitis
Does anyone have any idea if you can head off a bout of pancreatitis and if so, what would you do?
Last time she had pancreatitis she wasn’t eating and she was given buprenorphine, Cerenia 12 mg, S. Boulardi, mirtazipine, Animal Essentials Colon Rescue (I think that was all the meds).
Ondansetron seemed to just make her very groggy, so we stopped that after a few days.
Ivy also has hyperthyroidism, and is taking Methimazole. We just increased her dose on 4/5/25 to 5 mg 2x a day. (Her T4 was up to 7.7 on 4/1).
Thank you.
