I had one hungry, impatient kitty this morning!! I think I turned a corner while I slept. I woke up this morning feeling like I don't need to hover over Champ and I'm finally in the mood to get the laundry done and clean the house... I haven't done any of that since Champ got sick. I'm thinking if I stop stressing out and, in turn, treating the cat differently than I used to, he'll probably start acting normal again too. My optimism has returned!!!

There is that element of realizing that no matter what it is that we do, we can't lead in this sugardance. The kitties are in control. We are just allowed to follow.

Sienne, I think that's finally sinking in with me. The sense of gloom about the whole deal is finally lifting. Thanks for being there for me...I really appreciate it!!

Julie, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking. It's like I already had his grave dug and I was just waiting for the inevitable. But he's only ten, and he only has diabetes (hahaha), so life goes on. Besides, if I don't do my laundry, I'll have to walk around naked, and the world IS NOT ready for that :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hey Patty, I hope the cleaning goes well today! Sorry I didn't have a chance to re-reply yesterday. The resemblance between Billy, Champ and Mr. Tinkles got me thinking, though. What if they were the cat versions of the Hanson?

And yay for the optimism! :smile:

The Hanson is this pop band that existed about ten years ago, if I recall correctly? They were three blondes!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! that's priceless!! Oh yeah, the Hanson's. But they were goodie two-shoes. I think the more flamboyant one's for sure.

And hurray to Champ for actually having a very gentle fantastic curve today. Now if we can just get the numbers into the blue, that would be perfect.

Oh Patty...you are going through what we all have and there are some days that I still feel so nonproductive and hover over Gracie. Sienne is right although being the control freak that I am, it's been hard for me to just "follow". I want Gracie to listen to me darn it and quit bouncing :lol: :lol: :lol: You've come a long way in a short time and Champ is doing better. We'll all hang around for the ride!!!

uuggghhh!!! Champ's first red number. We were having such a good day, too. cat(2)_steam

I cooked some chicken breasts up for Champ, not cooked all the way through and just steamed with some water, cut them up into little cubes, and will freeze and thaw to give him as snacks since the freeze dried chicken breasts are a little pricey. I gave him about an ounce of those at around 3:30 and then a few more around 5:00. Would this be the reason for such a high increase from 256 at +9 to 417 at PMPS? It's a little concerning to see the number jump that high in only three hours. Any thoughts on why this would happen?

Hi Patty! Sorry for the red - but he is coming down - the +1 is better. the chicken should have been fine - maybe Champ just wanted to visit the upper floors. :roll:

I am glad to rad from your morning post that you have gotten past the sense of gloom. We've all been there I think. It does get better - you're helping him get through this, he's happy and alot healthier. life is good.
