I totally dropped the ball replying to everyone on that last post, my apologies. Life got chaotic and I ran out of time.
Simon's dental is tomorrow, 4/15. I mixed up my days. So far, I've moved his shot time back to 630am, and will just have enough room to adjust it back to 6am for his appointment tomorrow. They don't want him to have any food after 8pm the night prior, and 1/2 his regular breakfast, 1/2 his regular insulin dose, so 1.5U. They also want me to bring his insulin in case they need to give him any, there is only a tiny bit left in the pen, so I can bring a brand new pen but it makes me a bit worried since they're so expensive (Costco couldn't get the $35 coupon to work so it was $116), could I put some insulin from the new pen in the old or is that unsafe? I feel like I answered my question lol. I'll just bring a new pen in with him and try to make sure they refrigerate it.
If he is low tomorrow at shot time due to no midnight snack, should I still give him insulin? I know it depends on numbers but I won't have time to post here and get opinions as there is no wiggle room in timing tomorrow...
