Yesterday Neko had a nice pink to blue bounce recovery day cycle. The evening started out looking good, but I must have done a partial fur shot. Did I mention that the still not healed elbow is driving me crazy!! I seem to have problems shooting on one side, way more than I should. The shot looked good, but later when the numbers weren't doing anything, I noticed that the fur didn't look quite right, like some liquid had leaked onto it. Argh!! I'm sorry Neko. cat_pet_icon

4/13 Recap:
AMPS 325 +4 344 +8 278
PMPS 152 +3 156 +5 234

DH got up an hour earlier today, to drive to his rowing regatta in Washington State. Naturally both cats thought that meant it was time to get up for breakfast. They got a bit of freeze dried chicken, but I sure didn't sleep much for the next hour. That plus Neko being high means a noisy morning, what with LB's getting used, whining for breakfast, DH moving about. The btb was much appreciated. In the mean time, the morning sunshine seems to have disappeared. There are some threatening clouds against the mountains and possible T-storms again today. Both cats are inside anyway. Some neighbour has loud machinery running. The nerve of them to disturb a kitties nap.

Days like today I wonder if using R would help. I am following the other Wendy's condo on this topic. There are times I know I've done a fur shot as well as times when I see a bounce happening. Hmm. More to ponder.

I heard from Pip (&Rupert) today and all are well. Rupert isn't quite as bouncy and has taken a couple of reductions on Lev. And most importantly, seems to have more energy. Yet another thing for me to think about. I have two more cartridges of Lantus left before making this decision.

Hi Wendy ~O)

Bummer on the red, but a nice recovery with the +3. Maybe headed down. Right Neko?

DH should have good racing today. Sun has just come out here after several teasers this morning. We never really did get those threatened rains. I hope thing's are as good in lake Stevens.

The nerve of your neighbor waking up those kitties!

Hvae a great day today!

Hi Wendy, so sorry to hear about the elbow pain. Sending lots of vines your way. Ugh on the noisy neighbors, hope you all got a chance to catch up on your cat naps :-D

Re: 4/14 Neko AMPS 459 +4 360

Hi Wendy.......so sorry your elbow still isn't healed.
It's good to see Neko came down some. I hope she continued that trend, and got some sunny yellers today.

Yuck on the weather. Checks and I are both sick of gloom.

Have a nice evening, Wendy. :-D

Re: 4/14 Neko AMPS 459 +4 360

I'm sorry about the fur shot. Hopefully Neko will keep sliding down today and recover quickly. Sorry you're still having problems with your elbow. Did you ever get the results back from the x-ray, or did I miss that? Sending prayers your elbow will heal soon.

Re: 4/14 Neko AMPS 459 +4 360

Hi guys,

Neko, your mamabean is doing her best, but she is elbow-challenged at present, so be extra still when she gives you your insulin shots. OK?

Sounds like a delightful Sunday morning, with neighbors making noise, kitties wanting fuds, DH leaving too early and disrupting the all-important kitty routines! Hope the rest of the day was better! How was the rowing regatta?

Wendy, I sure hope that your elbow will heal completely very soon. Sometimes these things just take time and you have to try to do everything in your normal way so that you will re-develop the muscles correctly and not get into favoring one motion over another. I'm sure that your PT person has given you lots of boring exercises! Are you allowed to row gently on a machine?

Glad to hear that Pip and Rupert are doing well. For some reason I thought that Neko was already on Lev. I guess it was Rupert I was thinking of. Anyway, if a Lev. cycle fits into your lifestyle, it's worth a try. Rusty was on Lev. when he came to us and the Lev. cycle took a little getting used to (Stu had been on Lantus), but now I like it much better than Lantus. There is lots more time before onset.

Have a great evening,

Ella & Rusty

Other than that AMPS, the rest of the numbers look almost the same as yesterday. The sun came back out this afternoon so I went for a nice forest walk for a couple of hours. I walked along the base of our mountain to a little shopping mall, got my chai latte, and went back into the forest. :-D It's been a while since I've done that trail, I used to bike it so had to wing some of it. Thank heavens for mapping software on the iPhone!

@Michelle - Neko does seem to be sliding slowly down. Paws crossed it continues. We just had a 5 minutes drizzle, so weather should have been good for DH. He should be home soon.

@Courtney - Elbow is only a little sore, but I can't straighten my arm. Cat napping started a little later, machinery stopped but kids birthday party started. Oh well, got to get used to that in nicer weather.

@Barb - You called it, yellow made it into the program. Dark clouds moved on here, I hope they do there too. I go to PT on Tuesday. I think the fractures is healed but something else isn't 100%.

@Carla - I should get DH to do the evening shots more. He's better on that side. Still waiting for X-ray results, I'll call the doc tomorrow.

@Ella - You called it, if I take my time with the shot, Neko squirms. Rest of the day was much better. Still waiting from DH on the results. I texted the question, but no answer yet. We just text cause the roaming charges are killer. And yes on the boring exercises. Twice a day, although I could do more. On my hike today I ran into a municipal park I hadn't been to before with outdoor equipment. I tried the seated row (not rowing machine) for a while. It seemed OK. I'll await the physio OK before starting the rowing machine again. I have contemplated Lev before, it's just hard to work into our rowing schedule and sleep.

Re: 4/14 Neko PMPS 259

Zener is impressed with your slide today. :-D Keep going, Neko, the lagoon awaits. I hope your elbow continues to get better. How far from straight is it? You can come visit us to get some sunshine. :-D

Neko is on deck and changing into her green PJ's. :-D

@Rhiannon - A brief time in the blues and continuing to slide down. Next stop, the lagoon. :-D

@Liz - And the slide continues. The elbow is about 10-15 degrees from straight in both the left to right and up and down direction. The PT measured it last time, so we'll see if there is improvement from 4 weeks ago. Sunshine did show itself this afternoon, it was a great day for a hike. :-D
